Was it wrong for Kerry to mention Cheney's daughter?

Kerry and Edwards has the same stance you just described. Do your research before deciding to hate soemone for a ideal they don't even have.

Being the daughter of a VP, you are going to get the spotlight occasionally. Comes with the territory. I don't think it is near as big a deal as people want to make of it.

She's helps RUN THE BUSH/CHENEY CAMP!

Same-sex marriage amendment is part of their platform.

She is an intregal part of their re-election machine.

    She is an open lesbian.

Cheney has spoken about her sexual orientation several times while on the road to seem more compassionate and understanding.

Kerry said essentially: "Ask Ms. Cheney whether or not it is a choice to be gay."

WHERE IS THE IMMORALITY ON THE PART OF SEN.KERRY?

Then where was the moral outrage from the Cheneys when Alan Keyes (running for the Senate in Ill.) called her immoral? It is a cheap political stunt designed to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

As for the gay marriage issue, I could argue that it is more a matter of semantics. The government does not care if individuals live up to the bounds of a marriage. It does not care if you are in love or remain faithful. What it does recognize is certain rights and privileges for married couples. What about saying that government recognizes all unions as civil unions and leaves marriage up to churches? Far be it from me to tell the Catholic church that it must perform gay marriages. Just have the government live up to the intent of equal protection as it is outlined in the 14th amendment.

To me, all this "Should he have said it/Should he not have said it" stuff is all bullshit, just another example of the mainstream media reporting ridiculous, nonsense stories like this that mean nothing, and ignoring the REAL stories about the canidates and current events, and their policies.

    Peace and Love,
    Dan

Did you mean to write saprophyte?

    1. An organism that feeds on dead organic matter especially a fungus or bacterium

Interesting choice of words given this topic don't you think?

I didn't think it was wrong how he brought it up. His life is in polotics and so the peole he knows and their families are what he can draw from and people already know shes les. and he was only making an example and referance to her he wasn't insulting her and he stated his opinions on gay marriage laws etc...I am not a kerry fan but I wasn't offended by it.
