partly dead hair? all hair is dead... and sand and ashes aren't the dust you mostly see in your house... dead skin cells are. And dead skin cells are eaten by bacteria and other microscopic creatures which produce waste , unlike things like sand and ash. Hair isn't conscious... it doesn't "realize" anything. It stays dirty until you wash it... fact.

geez Tenshi. dead hair as hair that falls out and stays in you dreads, hair that is not dead = the hair that is still growing on your head.

and i go out and spend some time there, and i go to sandy places as well and i clean my room regularly (not really, but i wont believe it to be otherwise)
and yes hair, skin and body can "realize" a lot of things

    :):peace:

    hair is not alive.
the hair that falls out is identical the the hair still attached to your scalp.
i havnt read the thread so i have no idea whats going on though.

that was my point... the only hair that is "alive" is the follicle beneath the surface of the skin.

If there's any 'realizing' going on, it's the scalp that's doing it, not the hair. Hair is dead, like the others have said.

It isn't that they 'realize' that the hair is dirty, and cleanses itself, it is that over time the scalp produces only the necessary amount of oil, instead of overcompensating because normal shampoo strips the natural oils, making it get greasier faster and making you wash it again.

But that isn't the case with dirt, really. I know for me, I wash my hair when it gets oily. And over the last two months, it has become less and less oily in the same amount of time, and I need to wash it less.
But when I go roll in mud,

Yeah, water isn't going to help that.

the whole damn point is that the reason you wash your hair isn't just for the oil the scalp produces... its for all the other shit that gets in your hair in day to day life.

my hair isnt noticeably dirty, greasy, smelly or anything like that and i havnt used soap in ages (a year at least im gonna guess). i deep clean every three months or so though to take care of dirt. but thats nothing like soap lol. its just baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice and ess. oil.

that's why you rinse real well when it get shit in it. The excess oil is a far bigger problem for me then getting random, every day to day shit out of it. Like time I checked, I was like three last time I got gum or willingly put mud or random shit in my hair. I think your missing the point here to your whole anti-water campaign.

I'm totally against water... I actually just rub shampoo in my hair and leave it in there. That or I rinse with the souls of innocent children.

Shit, I'm wrong again. That water must not work. I should just let you cut me hair for me now to save the embarrassment later of having shit filled hair.
