awesome! i bought all of the stuff to do your rinse for this weekend yesterday!...lol..perfect timing...so i'll just add a little bit of that to try^^ thank so much!^^
It's only day 6 on my locks, and my dreadied friend is vehemently advising me not to wash more than once a week. Thing is, it's been a few days and it's getting greasy. My scalp also itches and I really, really want to wash my hair. I've been told it's okay to do it up to 3 times a week, but she insists that if I wash more than once a week, It'll take forever for my hair to lock up. Thing is, my hair is locking up really fast. She did have a different hair type from me when hers was straight, so she is probably advising me based on her experiences. I just really want to wash it - ack! Any advice?
If it's bothering you, wash it! Your scalp produces oils according to how often you wash it, but it takes time to adjust. If you're worried that washing it as often as you are will slow the process, you can slowly cut back (ie: wash 3 times a week for a few weeks, then switch to 2 times, then 1). But my rule of thumb is basically, if I feel like it needs washing and I have the time to dry it, it gets washed! soul drummer - let me know how that works out for you - I might try it next time I rinse....
don't listen to your friend. I wash my hair every other day because my hair gets uber greasey and itchy. The more you wash it, then the faster it will lock up. you just need to use the right soaps. I use dr. bronners and I LOVE it. My dreads at 7 months and washing every-other-day:
wow hummblebee...the olive oil seems to have worked well^^. the real brittle parts are nice and soft again^^. olive oil definately did the trick! thanks SO much^^ vbmenu_register("postmenu_3050898", true);
Awesome! Glad it worked! Hell, I should start bottling the shit and selling it! (Yeah right, as if I weren't stretched too thin already!) :tongue:
I always roll my the same day I wash them, to keep down the frizzies. You really just need to wait, it'll get better the longer you have them. Mine started to tighten up a lot after 4 months.
I wonder if I can trust a šampoo that's even called "Pure Nature". http://www.orto.ee/index.php?lang=eng&main_id=103 ..if it shows up in a weird language then just choose english from the top right corner. There are 5 different "flavors". There seems to be no dr. bronners here in Estonia so I'm looking for alternatives.
