i can help with this one! i have had one there for about 5 years or so. after having it for about 3.5, i took it out for a year. i tried to put it back in and it went back in no probs. also i had 3 below my lip at one point, the 2 on the sides are now closed but yes there are scars there, but they are tiny. i never had an infection below my lip (my body always rejects eyebrow rings and a few others i have had) but you have to make sure the piece of body jewelery is long enough or it will get very irritated and painfull

Anyone know if getting your septum pierced helps, or hinders getting a deviated septum?

I study martial arts, and I want my septum pierced, but I'm worried if I get hit in the face that it'll increase my chances of having me septum split. Anyone know?

I study one on one with a master who would never do anything like that. But sometimes I catch a palm to the face, or end up face down on the ground. I'm just worried about the stray strike to the face- deviated septum's are a common issue in the MA community.

if you flipped the jewelery inside of your nose it might be less of a chance of ripping your septum but it sure would hurt a hell of alot more and might cause some different kind of damage. it would hurt either way i'm sure. maybe you should talk to your trainer he might have some good insight/advice. it sounds kinda risy to me.
