I think this whole motherfucker is gettin ready to come apart at the seams...start streching kids so you can reach down and kiss yer ass's goodbye
There are some great recordings made by science teams set up in glacial areas where the ice creaks and moans. Doesn't sound like this but its pretty cool. NPR did a thing on 'em a few years ago, just sayin
The point is this could be real or fake . Its easy to record some strange sounds ,and play them back in forest , then take video of it . Unless we are there we may never know . desert rat
what is a wierd sound? what makes a sound "weird"? there are so many things we've made that make so many kinds of sounds, and so many billions of things in nature that make other ones; what's a "weird" sound? a sound is a sound, and they're made by so many kinds of things, that hearing for the first time an unfamiliar one, is more likely then not, to not really mean all that much. of course if you're alone out in the woods, your ears can tell you a lot about what's going on around you. but if there's anything human within a mile of you, odds are all you're hearing is some kind of entertainment crap. btw, the sound of cars going by, as heard from the inside of a storm drain, sounds just exactly like the first "strange sound" in the you tube link that was posted by orison. the other strange sound is only strange in the sense of being heard, if it actually was, in the kind of place the images that accompany it appear to be. just small crowd noise in a large empty echoey space like an empty convention center. its just the mismatch between the visual and the audio that is "strange". ok, i had to go back and check out what the first one had on it. also just a mismatching between sound and image. perfectly ordinary crowd sounds as at some sporting event. from a different time and place then the visuals. this is kind of like one of those optical illusion things. the visuals fool you. thinking what you are hearing and seeing are taking place in the same place at the same time. dollars to doughnuts, they were just recorded separately and superimposed arbitrarily.
This same strange sound being discussed on a different forum http://halfpast.oceanfalls.org/index.php?topic=1113.0 desert rat
