there's a few situations where a swat at the hand is far better and safer than a yank on the arm, too. but unchecked it's just AWFUL. when it's a swat on the hand, that tends to be more immediately necessary to save them. in a similar situation, grabbing them by the arm could cause shoulder injuries, neck wrenching, stuff like that. it's different, though, than a spanking. spankings hurt feelings. my daughters love to play this game where every time they run by dave, he pops them on the butt and and they jump, squeal, run through the house, come back and do it again. it's hilarious to them. but it's not a punishment. so it's different.
Living near Bristol is an absolute nightmare and they all genuinely sound like that, if not worse. Sorry. Worrrrrrse loyke innet yerr
Since Scotland made smacking your kids illegal, England has marvelled at the idea. Think about it. If we raise our children without penalties, then what? if we cannot even touch our children when they are out of order, like smacking them or pulling them back before they get splattered under a car. Likewise, as children grow up, they believe they are untouchable. once they have cottoned on, they will push the boundaries of society. There is a good old saying: A mars bar today, a woman's handbag tomorrow. Children need to learn to fear authority. Now I don't mean trembling, being traumatised so they go in on themselves. NO NO NO! I mean having fear of prison, fear of getting on the wrong side of the authority. Like it says in the BIBLE. (Only a cross reference, so don't start chucking vacuous words at me) There is alot wrong with the kids today. Not all kids are bad. Quite often, they are well behaved, disciplined etc. But they mingle with those who are bad. The weaker ones, get drawn into the gangs or the Hoes (girl gangs of lewisham) so we imediately assume all kids are bad. Prisons are overcrowded and this also goes for YOI's, Secure Units and Borstals. But, not all bad kids should be slammed into these places. That is why the government should be investing in community programmes to try and get kids off of crime. Society is broken. Many will disagree, but many just don't feel the earth inbetween their fingers by immersing their hands in some of the neglected parts of London and Uk. Britain as an entire country is broken. more stabbings, more shootings, grace our papers once more. The recent one in new Cross. It is the Government that has failed the parents, society and the children. Therefore, society becomes its own enemy, because we keep voting them in. Perhaps we need change. Maybe it is time to look at ourselves, our attitudes. For if one man can change himself, a million more can change society. For good
