Just got back from the Doc in a Box. Swollen lymph node, antibiotics for ten days. Blew the starter out of my lawn mower (Sears/Husqvarna) on Saturday. Second one in four years. First one snapped the shaft off, this one got a bent shaft. I never heard of bending a starter shaft. New one due this week. Raining again.
Well...got through another holiday weekend. and just about ready to go get some "ME" time alone with the tv to destress..... It was cold all day.....sweatshirt weather....but about 2 hours ago it got hot and muggy....at the end of the day.
Boy, the air is oppressive and suffocating today. It feels like some abusive psycho who keeps sitting on your head , even though you told them to back off.
In other news.....a friend caught these photos yesterday leaving here on my private road....and told me the snake was so huge and long , it was the length of the entire dirt road at first. My neighbor has seen this huge snake and so has Stan...It all is black with ridges...Anyone know what kind of snake this? I have never seen it....but I have to think it is there to protect us here...our serpent....lol...Apparently, it lives there near a hollowed out huge tree. I wonder if it lives inside that old tree. Friend told me they waited until it crossed, and here are the photos they snapped at the tail end of crossing, so this is the last little bit of tall...At one point, they told me the snake lifted up its head and looked at them.. That's a good friend...Letting the poor snake cross without hitting it.
@Lynnbrown...I read about that poor dachsund, Lynn, and I really hope he finds a forever home... I have heard too many stories about pets that have been thrown out, or killed or tossed in dumpsters or on highways..as the owners did not want to take care of them anymore or wanted something else, instead. Any animal is and should be a commitment until the animal dies a natural death....and people should understand that first before getting anything. There are no guarantees that ANY animal is going to be what you want it to be......or love you.....the way you want it to.
Ditching my friends to check up on the NBA finals on my phone and bitch to you guys about it. Also, trembling in fear from @Moonglow181 's snake pic
^...Yeah, so I am sure it eats something. What is your point exactly? and what are you full of...the gentle grazing deer or guinea pigs this month and what have they done to you exactly to have you kill them? and then there are the complainers about cats killing birds...and then what do they do? hunt birds. Are you trying to inspire more hatred for the poor snake, who in my opinion is a sad creature...and to be pitied....is hated by so many and it is not its fault it was a born a snake....and just trying to survive like everything else under the sun. mankind at his finest...HYPOCRISY...and mankind calls itself spiritual...PLEASE Mankind just thinks it is better than everything else.
I've got Stan's nieces birthday party to go to this weekend and I have been busy getting ready for that.....She is a little brat, too......but as well, as giving her all kinds of new gifts..i have been busy ooaking a Barbie and Kelly birthday party for her....using little Kelly dolls as her and her friends with party hats and birthday dresses and a cake...and the barbies and Kens as the adults...She loves barbies...so I am very creative, as usual...so back to my project now,. She will just rip everything apart, as usual..undressing all of the dolls immediately, and dropping and losing the pieces all over the place...and then wondering what is next for her.....elsewhere....as that what she does, but oh, well. It is the thought that mattered. Yep...I favor my neighbor's little girl at this point. I will have her birthday party to go to, too, in September.
you asked what kind of snake it was and I told you.. So you think it ok to attack me as a carnivore. It may of taken the eggs from someones farm .. You live in this imaginary world that I would kill any animal, reptile for joy. So Ill tell u this you seamless bean pole, I do more for the conservation of living creatures than you ever will.
Enjoying my day off. Bri's sleeping off her night shift while I'm up and watching the assman episode of Seinfeld. Shoulda got off my ass and gone to the beach, but oh well.
Yes, I did ask does anyone knew what kind of snake it was and no one answered....I did not ask what do you think it eats....so your point was lost on me. I know that snakes eats all kinds of things, including small mammals....These huge black ones are so huge...they probably wrap them selves around whatever they sit in the grass for or where ever they sit and wait all day sometimes with no results....at all.....as they have no other options...Other creatures do not have other options......but anyway....it is so huge...it probably wraps itself around whatever and suffocates and crushes whatever to swallow it whole.. I was asking to know if it was poisonous or not....as i will continue to keep my distance...and respect it from afar, and hope it continues to avoid me, too. I am not clueless as to what other creatures need to do. in order to live. Humans have plenty of options...plenty and choices.....and I cannot understand anyone who can kill anything...never could. I guess you missed the time I was talking about when I learned about my own father, who hunted one deer when he was a teenager...and how I was heartbroken and upset that it was ever even possible for him to do that.... Imaginary world? I can say the same for everyone. I live in my own world.....it is a kind world and I surround myself with kind people who have respect and feeling for all of life on this planet. I have no understanding for anyone else here. If that is imaginary...so be it. Plenty of us in this world, too. I can assure you there are no farms where I live or in the area at all...so the snake is not stealing anyone's eggs.
Its a black snake thats what kind it is ... BLACK .. NOT anything else. Simply BLACK .. IT is 100% harmless to humans. If it bit you, it would hardly break the skin, but it would hurt. They have powerful jaws and might hold on for a minute til it realizes it can not eat you. It is a constrictor and people are to big .. Want to be scientific Pantherophis obsoletus – also known as the western rat snake, black rat snake, pilot black snake, or simply black snake. They are not endangered by may harm endangered species such as Owls, Eagles . ect.
Ok, thank you.... constrictor...thought so.....when they are that huge.... I am glad my cats do not go out anymore. Grayson has no interest at all to ever go out, so we lucked out with him this time. I did give him a choice and do so...he will peek his head out the door and run back in. Smart cat.
certain black snakes can make rolls in it body, and also mimic rattle snakes-however they would need to den with rattle snakes to learn that behavior.
