Sorry to hear that Moonie. I know the feelings and I know there's nothing I can really say too. You're strong though. Will you get another dog? When my dad used to train and show the shepherds, you know he's always been that powerful man figure and the only real time I saw life get to him was when one of his dogs died. Now I guess I never knew it then but he was very accomplished in what he did and I was too young to realise just how good his dogs were at what he trained them in. So when one would pass that's when I saw him the saddest the most. But he always said too that the only way he could get over it was to get straight back into it with another one. We'd always had 3-7 shepherds at a time until we basically moved away and I remember how hard that was for him too. We didn't get to bring any with us. When we did get another one in our new home and country dad never did the showing or anything and he admitted he didn't really want the new dog but it was shipped to us without knowledge. His name was Beau and when we had to put Beau down that was the last dog he was going to own you could see that in his face.

Then he came over last Christmas and met my dog and now he has 2 more dogs and possibly one on the way from here. He wants to become the fist person in Australia to own a dog that has titles in show class and obedience class. Usually it's one or the other. I'm proud of him we talking about a 70 year old man with a dream and he'll pursue that and that's how he wants to die he said, with those titles and with that accomplishment.

So from all the heartbreak and "never again it hurts too much" he will have a 3rd Shepherd soon. :) so I was wo seeing if you'd also get another one to ease pains maybe?

Thank you for your words of comfort. I appreciate them.

    Another dog?

Well, there are no shortage of dogs and other animals that need love around here. We still have 4 pugs, 3 cats and 2 birds.......
My brother mentioned getting another dog to be Stan's companion, while he was here....and then mentioned a Japanese breed that looks like a fox or Finnish spitz dog. they seem like amazing dogs and they clean themselvess....but i am not drawn to them, really by photos alone.....I mentioned to Stan about it, and he said it would be nice to have another travelling companion, but maybe one year from now, and he wants a mutt.....and i told him when he is ready to go look in the SPCA, as there are many mutts there needing a good home, love and attention.......and that when he saw his dog, he would know it...just like I knew about grayson cat.....

There would be no other dog that would just want to lay near Stan's side all day and night and be in the car with him for hours every day, and just lay in the dug out at baseball games... unless they were old or sick....Sullivan was one of a kind in that way........and the burden of the exercising and things would fall on me.....and I have enough on my plate really.....Stan does not exercise the dogs like I do.

Of course, one thinks about what kind of dog they would like, if ever to get another one....and for awhile I wanted a bull dog....low maintenance for exercise, but they get ass problems and you have to clean them every day...no, thanks...so there goes that idea for me...Another shepherd would be ok to protect us and this property, but again, a lot of work.......and i am spread thin already here with the pets that are still here....

Now, just as a dreamer on my own, and not considering anyone else's needs or wants with another dog...i would like a dog like this photo....It is American Girl nanea's scruffy poi dog, abut I never a saw a dog that looks like this in real life....he looks so cuddly, though.......that is what i would want......

but for now, no, we are not getting another dog......Grayson is still not used to the pugs here.....

i always say, if something is meant for us....one way or another, it will become pretty evident...and our cross will meet one day.

I really haven't been reading the posts in here. Today I did.

Moonglow, I am so sorry for your loss. I actually started to tear up while reading about Sully. The way you wrote about him showed just how important he has been to you. I hope you and your family can still find the joy you deserve during this time of grief.

Lucky me gets to go bathe Grayson's tail now....He is going to hate me. lol

Had to cut some long hair near his behind today, but I am not cutting any fur on his tail. Wow, his fur is super long...i don't know how a cat can clean the amount of fur he has by themselves...they can't.

Our fluffy Persian cat sat in his own whopsy earlier and we had to shower him clean. Not very happy with the water but somehow I think that he understood. He loved it when our son spent half an hour with the hairdryer and a brush though. Just hope that he has no plans for a repeat performance

It wasn't that bad really. I had not bathed him since he was little.....I just filled up a small wash basin with dawn sudsy water.....that was as warm as I thought a cat could stand it, and placed the bottom half of him in there...while holding him with my other arm...he made some feeble attempts to escape, but I think he liked it, as he did not fight too hard...i scrubbed his tail with my hands and his hind quarters....rinsed him off a bit in the sink...and towel dried him...and put him on my bed where he feels safe, and he has been licking and washing himself ever since. He does seem happier now...I am glad I could help him out.Last night he went to lick his hind quarters....and made a face like yuck, and stopped.....so I checked it all out today, and yes, he did need help...Clean cat now...and that bath water was pretty dirty.

Documentary about Rodney Acala is on tonight from 8-10....dating game killer, so I am going to go watch that now. They have been advertising it for weeks. Looks like a person I would never trust just by his shifty eyes and shadiness.

Thank you, Aeri. Yeah, it has been rough here lately. Stan misses him so much and is sad all of the time....and I am sad, too about it. he was a magnificent animal that was loved by everyone who ever met him.

Anyway, I started watching that thing, and it was a movie....The real documentary starts in a few minutes. The movie was kind of silly, like a joke almost, with terrible acting.... so my mind wandered, as I got the gist of it, and I fell asleep through most of it......and here I thought that that was the real Rodney in all of the advertisements for it......The real one looks seedier.....as they showed a mug shot of him somewhere in the movie....I never heard of him before. Scary and creepy.....

Grayson took a big crap in one of the dog beds upstairs, so now, I am washing that in the laundry machine...Grayson either spends the day upstairs or in the basement , depending on where he gets caught when the dogs all wake up and come downstairs for the day...and I thought he outgrew his need for a littler box upstairs, but I see tonight, he didn't...so I guess I will have to put one back up there in my brother's room. Dammit....litter sand all over the floor again.....

Getting ready to make a double batch of pizzelle cookies.

I'm known far and wide for the best pizzelles in the world. Unlike this picture, my cookies are so thin you can see through them...and crrrrispy!

The secret is an old family recipe and an old world pizzelle iron. This is the one you have to use, made at a local foundry near the town where I grew up.
In the old days we used an iron held over the stove top, but it's hard to have consistent heat that way.

Those cookies look really good...Ok, send some this way.........an entire box of them.....lol

Got my Mele gray dog today...and it is a doggie Grayson! It is so cute....

Shitzu, eh?....a name like shitzu would be appropriate for a dog for me. i could carry it around all day instead of walking it...lo....l It also looks a bit terrier...Scottish terrier and shitzu mixed maybe?

Litter box is set up again upstairs.....so i don't have to worry about Grayson having to use the bathroom in an emergency anymore..He was coming down here and using the litter box every day, while we were out jogging the dogs........since he won't even come on this floor when all of the pugs are sleeping and not making any noise. gee whiz. is he always going to be scared of them?

A photo of Sully not too long ago taken at a baseball game......Stan got a photo book of photos done of him two days ago, and I took a photo of this photo from the book, and an awesome photo of Grayson taken by my brother while he was here. My brother loves this cat and says it is the most beautiful cat I ever had.......Grayson looks pretty intense in this photo, as he was still a little wary of my brother.

Um......something has been bothering me...i know I said here my brother said Grayson was the most beautiful cat i ever had, and it is his right to think that....but I did not say at the time...that I can't say one of my cats was ever more beautiful than the other. They were and are all beautiful in their own way....and not one more beautiful than the other...Ok, I feel better now....lol
