I am watching my small dog think that she is a gazelle jumping through the snow. Well she has to do something as standing still she would be engulfed.
Personal reasons mostly. I had a few professional misfortunes while working there. Including job loss and dealing with the frustrations of watching less qualified and less intelligent people I knew personally getting ahead in my line of work. Watched the price of living inflate way to high, and got priced out of a good apartment and into a bland and not-so-good area. The attitude amongst many portlanders is passive aggressive, in a sense that they take any criticism about their home town personally. However if you are traveling on the western coast, I wouldn’t discourage you from visiting that town at all. It’s still has good things going for it.
I'm drinking Powerade Zero, Coke's version of Gatorade...looking for those electrolytes..... Fighting off the flu. Yes, I had a flu shot. Didn't seem to work. I've been sick since Sunday, same with the wife. But I think: ♫ "it's getting better all the time, better, better, be etter..."♫
im watching dummies hit a giant pothole on the street its under water...fairly easy to spot the ones who've already hit it hard and learned their lesson
no..not too many cars seem to have covers here most of them are fancy looking alloy or just plain steel ones with studded winter tires
Just Fed All The Birds And Cats......After All The Rain I Swear I Can See The Grass Growing...... Only Took 2 Days For The Place To Go From Brown To A Distinct Green Hue......Guess I'll Get Some Fuel For The Mower Soon.....No Rest For The Wicked...... Cheers Glen.
Oops, I checked they are allowed now from November 1 to April 15, (2/32 inch). They were reinstated in 1983. But no one really needs them around here anymore. With front wheel drive, hardly any snow, and the way they clean the roads anymore why bother? Plus so many people have those shopping mall SUVs. Not like when I was a kid when you had rear wheel drive and they didn't clear the roads for days. We got studded tires so you didn't have to put chains on. Remember chains?
Is it true that in Canada you have to plug your cars in to warm them up enough to start them? My coworker from Canada was talking about it and we all looked at her like she has 3 heads lol
block heater on cold days not all cars need them though oil is thick like old mollasses in the cold..and the colder it gets the lazier the battery gets i have a block heater and battery warmer plus an interior heater for my car but never installed them yet
The first car I had was a hand-me-down car from my dad. It was a late 70s Toyota which had a plug-in with a cord dangling from the front grille so he could start the thing in a cold Alaska winter
Thinking about James Bonds arrival in Russia in Goldeneye. His american contact had a fire going under the car engine in order to keep it from freezing :-D
Not just Canada. My dad had to plug in tractors to start them in Maine. Trying to start a car pretty much anywhere in New England in the winter is a challenge.
