Yeah I will definitely come to you with questions. My friend Travis works in a studio, incredible musician too. much collaboration in the future.

I have a love-hate relationship with samples. I really prefer live drums especially but my stepdad swears by samples (he's a session keyboard player in Nashville. very polished stuff) I like raw music, like I really hate autotune. I never use it on my vocal tracks. It's nice to clean up occasionally but it's so abused in the crap on the radio it makes me sick and turns me off because I can always hear it.

What do you think of that mixer? We've been messing with one lately and I love it. Totally worth the investment to me since is perfect for performance and studio.

I don't know that much about digital mixers to be honest. And that one does look digital I believe. I was always taught to mix on an analog console or if I had to go digital to do it on a Protools HD rig because of quantization error and all that mumbo jumbo. I am more familiar with Neve and SSL consoles to be honest. But I don't at look things from the live sound perspective. Only studio for me. So I am sure it is a quality mixer.

And autotune is junk. So archaic and easy to notice. Melodyne is where it's at for vocal tuning

gotta give you props for that, mic'ing drums is the hardest thing in the studio to mic.

so, just started dreading my bangs. they're still kinda short but I figured it was time... they were already knotting up a lot and I backcombed them. so weird how they feel compared to the rest of my dreads considering they're 9 months behind.. I love it though. I'm just doing 2 more, still have tons of wispies around my face, but I think it's going to feel a lot more even and natural.

i used the wacom tablet with the monitor built in at my old work.. my coworker bought a "broken" one from the company for $5 and sent it in to get it fixed for $100 and now it works fine.. was so pissed :p these are the $1000+ ones too.

yeah.. i don't know exactly. i guess they just didn't look into it enough. I'm sure they have started investigating that stuff more though. the guy was lucky :p

in other news.. I have this one dread that seems to be perfect. it is knotty for most of its length and the fattest one i have. also feels perfectly round, plus the end is whispy and soft. I could stroke it for hours.

yeah it's ridiculous. you can add harmonies, change genders, up pitch, down pitch etc

endless possibilities and even people with trained ears have a hard time detecting it's use

Last night my fuckwit neighbour was doing his laundry at the stupid hours as usual (this matters because his washing machine is in our basement right below our bedroom). I don't know what he was washing....bricks by the sounds of it....the banging was driving me crazy so I went down and left a note on his washing machine. It reads:

    2.30am
    Still awake.
    Why?
Because you are a fucking idiot.
