Today I had
- kids doc apts
- costco shopping
- one kid to sitter, other to speech apt
- now I'm waiting for hubby to get home so we can eat and watch teh baseball game. He's late. But should be here any minute.

Tomorrow will be my lazy day as we have on apts so I plan on sitting in our house.

It's a shame all american beers are auto shitlisted over here and nobody bothers importing them. Id like to be able to have a go at a few down the beer festivals, but camra would never permit it.

Not a member, will never be a member. Kudos for the effort, but they are such fucking nazi's about minutia that they probably do more harm than good IMHO.

 

The CAMRA peeps used to come to the pub I worked at in Edinburgh. We were a "real ale" pub but only had six different ales on tap. *sigh* That did not bode well with the CAMRA folks. I know all about the art of ales, etc. I miss doing the work... checking to see if they are ready to be served, etc. Using a mallet to tap a keg only to realize it was the new batch that had just been brought in that day and the damn little wooden bit hitting the top of the cellar with beer going everywhere. Yup, good times. I was such a good working alcoholic.

 

HAHA! I don't really know too much about Camra other than that Wigan LOVES Camra. There's one pub that displays 'CAMRA PUB OF THE YEAR 2002, 2003," I'm like "Yeah but you haven't won it since you fuckers." Every time I go past.

 

lulz at the cartoon. i don't know much about camra but i hate beer snobs that look down on those who drink things like bud light or steel reserve because they don't have an appropriate caramel malt profile or enough citric floral/piney almost lemony hoppiness with a full-bodied, creamy mouthfeel and a dry finish for their tastes.

 

i just got done doing a 2 hour radio set and it was awesome!

 

LOL. I used to always want to go to the Bent and Bongs (my hometown as it's locally known as) World famous Festival. Never could though. Was always held in some shitty labour club with a max cap. of 250 and there'd be like 500 people waiting to go in.

 

Heard about that, tell all!

 

sucks you can't get awesome beers from breweries like Stone, Bear Republic, Sierra Nevada, etc. but at least you get Sam Smith and the like :cheers2:

 

we should do a 2 man traveling beer swapbox, cost a fucking fortune in postage.

 

i dont know that it would. i've shipped overseas and it's not that much. i would totally be down for a beers of teh world swap box. -we'd probably just have to trade singles, no bombers.

 

hdh, we had a discussion on are about approaches to encouraging civic engagement & political participation on the air. it was awesome. i am thinking about taking some media classes, so that i can have a reggae show on the station. lol
