    Yesterday I got this:

While I was getting inked, the shop got quite a few phone calls and people dropping in, so I offered my services as a receptionist. The owner said he`s not quite busy enough to pay for a full time person yet, but I`m gonna start working one day a week in exchange for more ink. When he gets busier, prolly in the summer, he`ll take me on as a full time paid employee. Its like a dream come true!

talked a lot and researched our business plan last night with my boyfriend and our good friend Richard who currently is in art school in Cali. Richard's an incredible artist with a central American/Mayan style. We're going to start screen printing made-in-the-USA organic cotton/ bamboo/ hemp tees with custom designs, and also I will be sewing more unique "limited" pieces and screen printing on them as well. We'll start an online store first, and probably put up a stand at First Thursday. If we do well, we'll take out a loan and open a boutique downtown that has murals on the walls, painted mannequins, and a jungle on the ceiling. and we'll serve coconut water and tea.

sounds cool zilla, i love screen printing.

i worked for myself for like 9 months, just screen printing t-shirts with my designs. i had three designs... one said "hey what it is." the others were images. its pretty easy to sell t-shirts on the street, without a storefront. $20 ea. and half was profit. the mistake i made was going into business with a psycho. he ended up locking me out of our apartment for a week and then chopped up my sofabed with an axe. he was pretty crazy. lol, those were the days. :)

good luck zilla, i wanna see some cool designs.

today i went to class, rendered some cool drawings of fish and birds. then i wrote an essay. now i'm gonna take my bike to the gym and do some leg workout. tonight i paint.

I worked doing screen printing for about 5 months as well.. but I worked for someone and we mostly did like.. school sports tshirts and other random stuff, but nothing too artistic. It's a fun process and really satisfying when they come out good :)

    good luck!

Trimming what? I need to know. =)

Zilla, that sounds neato! Seems like low overhead to which is key in success early on in a business. Or should I say cash flow early on. Maybe I can open up the Canadian franchise when you expand.

mamakat, I really like your tattoo!

Today I carted kids to and fro and we had a house showing. Yes... still trying to sell the fucking house! UGH! Over 150 days now this time around...

Yeah, it is a great feeling when they hand you a wad of cash. I'm just use to getting more exercise and being outside! But at least I still get to work with plants :)
