It's traditional for them to start striking in the months leading up to Christmas because they are overpaid workshy bastards.

...And they steal your stuff. Today I'm finally having a washing machine delivered. I've been washing all my stuff in the bath since July or August. Don't wash bath mats in your machine, even though you have a warranty they won't fix it because "bath mats aren't supposed to be machine washed" even though the labels say they can be.

Although I think anxiety is good and I agree that it does appear that anti depressants are over prescribed, I suffered from a form of anxiety that made daily life pretty darn tough. I used meds to help me stop the panic attacks and it worked. It took quite a few years for me to over come and without the medication, I don't think I could have stopped the cyclical thinking. Unfortunately, homeopathic and herbal remedies do not have the effect of the actual little pills they gave me. They started just under six years ago and it's been a couple years since my last attack so I think I have beaten it.

I just think there is anxiety and then there is Anxiety. If you have suffered through Anxiety, then most likely just talking will work. You need something more. I'm very grateful that I got better. =)

However, I will say that they talked about prescribing my three year old (at the time) anti depressants for his anxiety... UGH! Huh??????

Anyway, if you wanna ask more about it, pm me. I feel weird writing about it. It's one of my more private things.

daisy thanks for sharing. I dont think its anything to feel ashamed about. Ive had anxiety/panick attacks/depression about half of my life. It sucks!!!!! At the peak of it I was a total recluse and isolated myself completley because I was terrified of going out and having another panick attack. I tried antidepressants for a bit but they made me even crazier and made my anxiety worse. Thats when I realized my anxiety was due to serious control issues!lol. I came from a very dysfunctional home where I had no power as a child and that led to some fucked up events that happened to me as a teenager which perpetuated my distorted thinking that I was powerless and not worthy of happiness. Luckily, over the course of 5 years I was able to unravel my own psyche and find the root of the problem on my own and without medication. Nowadays...yoga, meditation, pure foods, family, good music, and exercise keeps me balanced. The hardest thing for me was realizing that I deserve to be loved, learning to love myself, and then accepting someone elses love. Ahimsa.

{{{hugs}}} mandy. So happy you have found peace. I met some ppl that have suffered from anxiety for 10+ years and some of them had not left their house in years. Anxiety can eat life out of people in the worst of ways.

Haha well.. All the docs say all of my symptoms are directed towards anxiety. Just anxiety. 'Oh.. You nearly passed out? Anxiety.' 'Oh... you have trouble breathing? In three or four different ways/situations? Anxiety.' I'm fed up of fighting.

That is so awesome Mandy :) I find the route of my anx. is stress, but I haven't found a way to deal with it yet, apart from do all my work as soon as I can. But I have trouble making that work due to other problems. Its a godamn circle.

Last night went to see an old friend in London, went to the KSE gig which was awesome. In Flames are sexy. And the vocalist has dreads. <3. Got back today about 4, went into uni to find my shit that needed to go in the kiln hadn't, so that pissed me off. Also pissed cus I didn't write the right ref. code to collect train tickets for the bf. So now I'm tired, grumpy, and have a migrane on the way. Its a housemate's bday tonight and she has friends round, so its loud. And I'm hungry. ><

I've suffered panic attacks and severe social anxiety for years now... off and on I consider getting some meds to help out, but honestly I am terrified of taking medication. But if it worked for you then maybe it could work for me too...

Yeah, headband is nice to work with... but the Blue Dream hardly even has any leaves so it's practically like it is trimmed already which makes it super easy.

That's great zilla... I'm trying to start a business too, but you sound like you have things a lot more together than I do :)

I will totally buy some... I am all about the hemp clothes!

I'm really excited because I just read that Oregon made it legal to grow and sell hemp, I should get into that business.

I've suffered from anxiety forever. I have OCD and a tendency toward manic-depressiveness, though I wouldn't say I'm bipolar. Doctors were hesitant to diagnose me until further testing was done since it could hurt job resumes etc. So I'd rather not be formerly diagnosed, even if I am, which I suspect. I kinda like it though, I'd rather be a crazy person than a zombie.

Currently I self-medicate because I hate xanax and antidepressants like hell. I have come miles since my teenage years, but the cyclical thinking still hits when I am under a lot of stress, and then it's a downward spiral.

When I'm stressed I have a total melt down. It bugs me because I've lost the ability to think for myself in times of crisis. I used to suffer majorly from depression in my teens but I'm too "ah fuck it" to be depressed about anything. I just wish I could handle stress better. How I got through uni amazes me.

It was the cyclical thinking thing that was killing me. You start.. then it goes... and goes and goes... "rational mind... you know better!." then my crazy mind goes "but what if.. what if... what if".

I sat in a group with people that suffered from anxiety and since I had just started having attacks I learned that I wanted to fix it before I got to the stage that some of these ppl were at. It was heartbreaking to hear some of their stories.

Wow... female dreadhead = anxiousness ??? At least we're all in good company. =)
