working. and trying to distract myself with numerous vices.

 

I woke up at 4:30 am today for no apparent reason. Logged onto the internets for my daily Dalai Lama quote which I will share with you...."Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions." and now am gonna log off for some yoga. Have a buddhaful day lovelies! xoxo

 

This woman is running her mouth off telling everyone she can about my disability and I don't want people to know. She treats me like a poor disabled girl telling me she worries that I can't manage the cellar stairs, FTR, I have steeper stairs at home that I manage fine with.

Stupidly while drunk I told her about my disability when we moved here.
Her eyes lit up and she told me she works for a firm that helps disabled people get into work and she'd love to help me as she knows "what it is like to be disabled" because "she felt disabled when she had a child at 16".

She was very reluctant to tell me the full score with this firm so I had to google it, anyway it wasn't for me and I told her politely that right now I am done with studying.

More than once I come close to snapping at her because she ALWAYS wants to tell me about people she meets who have the same disability as me and I am NOT interested. I have told her that I don't especially consider myself disabled and I don't want to mix in disabled social circles. It feels like she doesn't want me to forget I'm disabled, because I turned her "generous" offer of an NVQ with her firm!

Whenever I meet someone new in the pub the woman eaves drops for a bit then chips in:
"Did you know Claire's got xxxx?"

While I'm stood right there! I can't even describe the look of horror on my face.

And it's really uncomfortable because she ran off and told my boss about my disability last week, my boss didn't know because I don't feel I need to make an issue out of it if I can do my job.

It's getting to the point where I'm going to snap especially after she said last night she'd put her foot in it by telling my boss, again, leading me to believe I was going to be sacked after the woman's husband had just told me people are picking up on my mood and I'd better buck up or I'll be out of a job.

I can't even say anything because she knows EVERYONE and the last thing I want is for her to go around saying that I should be ignored because I was rude to her.

I recommend politely telling the woman that you find it rude of her to be telling your business to other people. Maybe even tell her that you appreciate her concern for you (even if that's a lie) but that you prefer to handle things on your own.
I understand how hard it can be to get people who think they are some kind of crusader to piss off. Goddamn busybodies.

 

HDH, that is just awful. Does she work with you? If not, I would tell the pub managers how it is making you uncomfortable and that you do not feel comfortable with peoiple knowing this as it is personal and private and since they didn't even know, it obviously doens't matter. I would even say as much as asking the managers to not let her in the pub. There is no reason you should be made to feel uncomfortable in your place of work.

I would also explain to your bosses how the law is on your side and how you do not legally need to disclose anything to them and there are laws in place to avoid this time of thing.

That just blows!!

Dude C that is shit :s She isn't doing it malliciously I'm sure, but it isn't her place to tell everyone about your shit. It really isn't. If you do speak to her it's not her place to tell everyone. Its rude. GAh anger@people. You should say something, people will be on your side- not hers.

 

I just had a heated debate with my twelve year old sister about whether werewolves exist. I was winning until she started hitting me and not listening...

 

The woman is one of the pubs biggest spenders so I cannot go creating problems and I don't want to get the whole town involved.

She probably isn't doing it maliciously but I'm just getting tired of it. I've never known anything like it.
Another example of how they treat me like a dumb ass:

*gives a punter change, punter counts it*
They'll say
"has she not given you the right change? Claire you've not given him the right change."
Punter says "no, I've got the right change."
"You sure? Claire, what did you give him?"
*it gets sorted in 15 seconds, they pull a face and tell me to "crack on".

You know, just let me do my job, my boss pretty much leaves me to it I haven't seen them do it to anyone else so I wonder if they think I'm incapable of handling correct change.

If this is the way she talks to disabled people, then I dread think about her firm. I'm pretty glad I never went ahead with it, I can imagine them all sat round being condescending as fuck while they all sit round all smug about how much they think they're modern day crusaders by by 'elpin' uz dizabled folk get work mi'lady.

 

Never attribute to malice what can be explained through stupidity.

 

hdh <3 hopefully she means well, but she's just stupid. i'd start ignoring her till she get the hint.

I found my daughters bio dad...he's back in the states. Gonna go after him for child support now. I'm kinda scared. Him and I have some unresolved issues from 8 years ago....I hope he's man enough now to just have an adult like conversation with me and settle all this...I would prefer not to take him to court and settle things outside of it....I sent him an email yesterday and am giving him one week to respond before I take legal action. God damn some financial support would be awesome right now! Amara could join the rock climbing kids club she's been wanting to do...and she can take piano lessons like she's been wanting to do! Plus I could start a college savings account for her! Wow it would be a blessing! I think he would have to pay 7 years of back pay plus pay me for 11 more years! Justice will finally be SERVED!!!!!!!! =] =] =] =]

Today I went to work, came home about 1, should have had a nap, didn't have a nap, went to see the friend over the road who, with my brother, got hit by a car, played Wii, now needing dinner before I go out painting again. I swear a paintbrush will be the death of me. Not a scolding hot pile of molten glass, not an exploding gas kiln, a freaking paintbrush. I still need a nap ><

 

clean my room! too messy

 

im in the process of photographing and editing 120 drawings and paintings I've done this summer. im presenting a portfolio to my university in order to receive credit for my community college classes. so far it has taken a few days to get 50 pieces shot and edited, but im not spending more than an hour at a time.
its really the most boring part of being an artist. making a portfolio presentable.

also i bought starcraft 2 and i've been playing that a lot. its really awesome. and though i usually dont play videogames i made an exception because i've been waiting for this game since i was 13, when videogames were my whole life.

Today, my internet is twice as slow as dial up. Which isn't very cool. Also, I'm in dire need of sexy male models for my photography and by sexy, I mean real men to do some classic portraits of.

My sensor also need cleaning badly, if any photogs here can give me advice on self cleaning [can't send it away because I have to use it daily] would be nice. *waits for Pypes to chirp in with "but we went through this last week"*

 

Went for a hike barefoot in the forest (which is up the side of a valley).
I bumped into two foxes and two dear, all rather close too, which is very unusual (for me at least).

Now I'm just mooching about...

 

had a lie down on my bed at 7pm last night listening to sigur ros.

woke up at 7am... was sweet.

Work from 9-2 then hopefully seeing the new lady friend.
