Better than us. Russian scifi serie on Netflix Reminds me a bit of Äkta människor (Swedish scifi series for tv with similar theme, which I also massively enjoyed) Äkta människor (TV Series 2012–2014) - IMDb I recommend both, but imo the Swedish one is better. More nuanced, realistic and interesting imho. So I recommend that one heavily to fans of scifi or alternative/possible future societies
Black Hole: Apocalypse Nova science special that detailed much of the history of Black Hole research. I believe the special was released about a year before the Black Hole Image was released, it mentioned that research in progress. I had heard of some of the prior research but the special went fairly in depth at some of the processes, tools and methods used in Black Hole Research from a high-level. Some spiffy computer graphics and animations to go with it.
I'm still watching "Blacklist", but it seems to be going downhill. I'm 4 seasons in though so no real point in stopping until I'm caught up. Honestly, I can't imagine how the show could still be on the air the way things seem to be gravitating... It's possible that every episode is on Netflix already and that being caught up is having watched every episode. Let's check... I guess they're still on season 7 which premiered in October of 2019 (I don't know how long a season is...).
Yesterday I watched a few different segments of Lex Fridman on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. I really wish I had a joint at the time.
Just finished season 10 of shameless. It's a really bad show. There's no continuity, they bring new characters on and make them seem significant just for them to disappear an episode or two later, and the main characters dont ever grow. Season 1 - 4, maybe 5, were good, everything after that has been terrible and yet here I am on season 10 still watching it
Watching the 1st season of GOT on DVD. Now that I have all 8 seasons on DVD it’s time to go through the series to pick up everything I missed during the first go through.
It's unfortunate when series start off SO well, and then just die out...as if a completely different set of writers/directors came in for the final seasons. I'm still holding a grudge over Game of Thrones. What a horrible ending to what was an epic series.
I never saw game of thrones, but yeah... It seems like the writers forgot what they were trying to do. I remember actually thinking to myself "what's wrong with the writers?".
I kind of wonder if they start taking their audience for granted, like they start playing with the plot because they have a fan base.
Sure and after I read all five books by George R.R. Martin, I’ll read the four volume set of Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, (just to fill in the details of course) followed by Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park collection. Fast forward ahead 10 years...lol...
You definitely miss out on background story and lots of details too if you haven't read the Lord of the Rings, but timing is everything with enjoying such an epic.
I was immune to the GOT ending. Everyone was pissed and ready to rip the tv off the wall and throw it across the room and I just shrugged "ok guess that's now over" It wasn't perfect but I dont get why it was so hated either. The only really cringe moment was when they were laughing at the concept of democracy. It just seemed like they were trying to be too meta and comment on the current political situation
Nobility did so most of the time during medieval times so it fits the swords and magic setting of Westeros.
I wish the Picard show was on Netflix. Amazon is... well it's Amazon. But I'd rather not pay twenty different services. Maybe eventually we will get some Discovery/Picard!
Just watched both seasons of Derry Girls for the second time. Love the Irish accents and it's really a cute show.
Me too. I'm really interested but a bit out of the torrenting thing. I also just want it to be on Netflix (like the other newest Star trek series Discovery indeed) Discovery is set about 100 years before Picard btw (in captain Kirks era), so its unlikely they will intertwine.
