I arrive at peace by a number of marvels. Some... Achieving a positive outcome with a project. Having a good time or great conversation with a friend. Being outdoors in the woods, by the river or a lake, with nothing to do but relax into the outdoors. Sitting in meditation until the point of inner merging & energization. Listening to music I like for a half hour, at least. Resolving some difficulty or misunderstanding with another person.
Open windows, scented candles and incense, my feet in a relaxing foot bath, glass of wine, and zoning out in front of Ken Burns-type documentary about the past.
Sitting on the back porch with coffee and a protein shake while watching the sunrise when it's at least 80 degrees outside.
I'm wayyy late to this, but honestly anything to do with water. Creeks, beaches, etc. Something very pleasant about it
music, weed, food, and the remembrance that everything is temporary. Whatever you are missing feeling now will return to you in time.
In 2022, having spent a long time without peace and a personal situation that forced me to, I decided it was time to look at why this was. I found one thing I can say honestly: it was a defining experience: that I was the problem, not the outside world, the news, and current events, but me. After this, I decided to take a journey to discover myself and who I was. There, I found the path of the dharma and decided to walk it. This, meditation, and mindfulness changed my ways to where I, in a way, surrendered to living my life in peace and love.
Here I go out the door, and right there is a Redwood Grove to go stand in and hear the water running in the river, the quail chuckling in the blackberry bushes and the wind in the trees. That is PEACE.
Peedge & Zen, I love both your ideas about peace. I'm a believer in, and creator of, a peaceful environment for the ones I love. There's nothing more civilized in this world than creating a beautiful, nourishing & peaceful environment- for your family, for your friends, & for your lover
[Verse 1] Peace is a word of the sea and the wind Peace is a bird who sings as you smile Peace is the love of a foe as a friend Peace is the love you bring to a child [Verse 2] Searching for me You look everywhere except beside you Searching for you You look everywhere, but not inside you [Verse 3] Peace is a stream from the heart of a man Peace is a man whose breadth is the dawn Peace is a dawn on a day without end Peace is the end, like death of the war
