The spices are in a drawer beside the stove and valuable cabinet space has been freed up!

I didn't have to clean anything today! I was in a pretty pissy mood about the state of my apartment when I left for the gym, and I was rather vocal about how I seem to clean the place every day, and yet it can't seem to stay clean. Anyways, when I got home, the apartment was immaculate! It was SO nice to come home to a clean place and not have to be the one to clean it.

On another note, I scrubbed the stove and kitchen floor on Tuesday and burnt the shit out of my wrist with the oven cleaner. It is still stinging and has finally started to scab over a bit.

I organized the stupid storage locker in the scary basement in our building, and put away some of the camping gear we've had out since last weekend.

I am finished rearranging/organizing the silverware, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee mugs, tea set, spices and oils/vinegars.

I still have to do the plastics, cookware, odd items like collanders and graters, mixing bowls and baking pans, knives and cutting boards.

It's taking alot of time and thought because I'm putting things closest to where I'll use them and grouping things differently than I have before.

I'm really going to like it this time!

I'm still working on the kitchen cupboards...I take lots of breaks when I work on a big project.

There was stuff in the skinny bottom cupboard that hadn't seen daylight since my former husband left, late in 1997!

And the new to me used stove... Someone thought pan storage drawer in the bottom of it was a broiler drawer. I finally got around to cleaning it today. It had something stuck on like sticky bbq sauce or something...yuck.

I cleaned up a bunch of dishes that had built up while very one worked all week, then I did a bunch of laundry. I just put I he last load. I hope I don't forget about it before going to bed. That happens sometimes and then it smells the next day.

I had to clean out my granddoggie's crate because she had diarrhea in it! She's a big 80 lbs dog so it was messy! *Pun intended.*

I'm going to be working on organizing my pantry shelves this evening.

I got the pantry shelves nicely organized and labeled so that when hubby wants to put groceries away he won't wreck the order of things.

I went to get a tool from a box I'd left in a cupboard under the boiler, which recently had a leak. I should have checked the tools before because they'd been sitting in about 5 cm of water, and several files, chisels and other things were coated with rust and slime.
Rinsed off the worst, and put the tools to soak for 3 or 4 days in vinegar. The acid should remove the rust and they can then be rinsed, dried and put away again.

You can use vinegar to remove rust from old iron nails, screws and fittings. They come up quite clean if the rust hasn't gone too far.
