i zapped a couple of things in the micro-wave. no actual making anything today. it was a shopping day. and i ate an absolutely perfect avacado. besides the bit of left over lassagnia i zapped for breakfast and the m.r.e. potroast for dinner. last night i shredded and boiled 1/4 head of red cabbage with the last of the bacon and some green onion, and a little hoisen sauce along with my usual lemon for flavor.
Currently enjoying stuffed bell peppers with green beans w/onions & bacon bits. Used 1 lb of ground beef (not grass fed, I know, I should be flogged), 1 lb of mild Italian sausage 1/2 lb of hot Italian sausage browned together. 1 large yellow onion & half purple onion diced and sauted until barely translucent 3 cloves of garlic 4 large Roma tomatoes 12 oz of tomato sauce 8 oz tomato paste 2 1/2 cups white rice cooked with vegetable broth about 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan all smooshed together and crammed into the peppers and then topped with some melted Mozzarella. delicious :chef:
I made broiled pork tenderloin using two different seasonings I got from Marlboro. There's no picture but this stuff is awesome! The other seasoning is Weber's Kick'n Chicken but I liked the Korean spice much better. I cut the tenderloin in half, coated each one with olive oil and seasonings .. put 'em in the fridge for a few hours, then rolled them in brown sugar and broiled them to perfection. Then I finished it off with my watermelon e-cig.
I have an e-cig that charges from The USB on my computer. In fact I have two so I always have one handy if one runs out of power.By the way Gina - how do you embed links like that,So that what you typed "watermelon e-cig" for example, goes directly to a link.I have a Mac by the way.
I highlight the words I want to attach a link to, then select the blue insert link icon, paste the webpage and POOF .. magic happens! Today I'm having V2 peppermint. Can't wait to try the dragonberry!
The juice flavour for my e-cig is "American classic tobacco"...I'm something of a traditionalist ya' know...
"... all smooshed together and crammed into the peppers" haha! I think you should have your own cooking show! They sound delicious. It's been a long while since I've had stuffed peppers. Yesterday I had a fantastic vegetable omelette. Why is it men make such good omelettes? Or maybe it's just that I'm terrible at making them so I wait until someone makes one for me. Seems none of my female friends make them either. I tried another avocado recipe, a nice refreshing salad. I like the varying textures and flavours in this... smooth, crunchy, tangy and sweet. I didn't have pea shoots so I used sunflower seed sprouts which I found went well, though I'm partial to sunflower seeds. Avocado and Grapefruit Salad 1 pink grapefruit 1 avocado, sliced 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1 tsp maple syrup Freshly ground white pepper Sea salt 1 fennel bulb, thinly sliced 2 cups pea shoots Segment the grapefruit over a bowl to catch any juices and squeeze excess juice from the membranes. Use 1/4 cup of this juice for the dressing, whisking it with the olive oil, sesame oil, maple syrup, a pinch of white pepper (about 2 ground peppercorns or 1/16 teaspoon), and a pinch of sea salt. Taste and adjust seasonings, if desired. Gently toss the fennel and pea shoots in half of the dressing. Arrange on two plates, top with the grapefruit and avocado, and drizzle the remaining dressing over the fruit. Dust with pink Himalayan sea salt to give the salad a pink hue and compliment the pink grapefruit. serves 2
