I made pasta sauce with chicken in it last night and brownies extremely late last night because I had a craving.
They were pretty good. I didn't use my usual brownie recipe since I wanted something fast and easy so I found this recipe http://urbanbakes.com/easy-one-bowl-classic-fudge-brownies-recipe/ I used a 9x9 pan too so it was a bit thinner and baked faster. Normally I use the Alice medrich brownie recipe. If you haven't tried that one they are the best brownies I have ever eaten!
Tonight I actually made my first real vegetarian dish. Now normally my vegetarian dishes contain bits of meat >.> just smaller amounts, not a steak ya know? So I made zucchini and pumpkin pie with some spring onions, some cheese and an egg. I wasn't so sure I'd like it and my initial reaction in my mouth was "too mush, throw it up" but I kept it down, I actually really enjoyed the taste but not so much the texture. Anyway, here I am 12 hours later and I am starvin' Marvin' I tell y'all hwat. I dunno how vegetarians do it. >.>
ground deer in red sauce(ragu) and some shells.. dont like it, dont eat it.. <referring to household members. I likes just fine with some buttered garlic toast and dusty mozza cheese..
My son had one pork chop, and one and a half chicken breasts, left over from his family. Weird quantity, I know. Anyway, he gave them to me. I cooked both of them sauteed in bacon drippings and put some roitisserie seasoning on them. They were good. I ate them with dried beans I'd cooked before.
Last night we had smoke sausages. With them we had perogies stuffed with bacon, potato and cheddar cheese, sour cream, green beans, corn and sauerkraut.
I had two pieces of fish and then a frozen pack of veges microwaved. Then I decided I didn't like the veges. They tasted very sweet, artificial, not real. The fish was lovely though.
Aldis had some thick pork chops, so I left the bread out this morning to get stale, made some stuffing for them .. peas and carrots and potatoes ..
http://ohsheglows.com/2013/03/05/roasted-buddha-bowl/ The veggies are roasting right now. Hopefully it turns out okay. If not, I'll be ordering sushi.
Right along with you! I've been extremely ill last couple of weeks with the worst flu I've ever had. I caught it at the hospital when I had to sit in a crowded corridor full of sick people half the day waiting for a blood test. Nothing like going to the hospital to get better and coming home with near plague! Seems half the town has it. I blame it on the mild weather, we haven't had our usual deep freeze to kill the viruses. One degree Celsius on February 1st, that's unheard of. This thing has been brutal. Now starts the recovery. I'm getting better but still feeling really weak. I haven't had an appetite at all, but now these meals are cheering me up!
That sounds so good. No more sausages for me. :bigcry: Starting my low sodium regimen. I can't take blood pressure meds, too many side effects my body can't handle so it's herbs and diet I have to count on. My meals are going to be boring as heck until I get in the hang of things cooking with herbs and certain spices.
That looks really good! How did it turn out? Holy, hope you stay on the mend as that is not good for sure. Damn weather has everything in nature, including us in a dither. When you start to experiment with different salt choices, post them as I am sure most of us would also like to reduce where we can. I am looking forward to hearing about your new plans. I consider you my sister in this lifetime!!!
Oh, it was excellent. Next time though, I will probably dice up some jalapenos and roast them with the other veggies, and maybe dice up another type of pepper and throw it in with the quinoa. I think something spicy would complement the nutty sauce quite well.
