Aloo Gobi (a curry dish with cauliflower, potato, sweet potato and peas) and salad. I'm on a curry craze.
Homemade Tofu spaghetti with a flat bread covered in roasted garlic, sundried tomatoes and peppers, with fresh pulled mozzarella cheese.
Yeah, i was kind of dubious about it because i know heat takes away from the potential health benefits. The recipe I used suggested roasting the garlic for an hour and then adding to the soup immediately before you blend and serve. I roasted for only about 20 minutes to try to keep some of the health benefits but i'm not sure if it helped so I also set aside a clove of minced raw garlic to add to my bowl as a garnish
nothing,,i had leftovers from yesterday...yummy chicken/celery and kettle cooked crunchy peanuts stir fry for flavour i added a bit of curry powder and some mrs dash....and a half cube of chicken bouillon
I baked up some fresh pumpkin and then turned that into a beautiful pumpkin soup with freshly baked bread rolls that I made myself.
I'm not sure if his counts as cooking but I made a giant fruit salad. I got all the fruits at the grocery store that were packaged up and put on sale for being older and brought it all straight home to make fruit salad. I added he last 2 packages of blackberries too.
I haven't made anything meat based for my husband in quite some time, so today I picked up two huge racks of ribs, and I've got them in the slow cooker now. Of course I wont be having any, but I know my husband will be over the moon when we get home from work tonight. Edit/Update: Food aversion is SO WEIRD. When I used to eat meat, my mouth would water at the smell of ribs in the slow cooker. Now, in this moment, I actually find the smell nauseating.
That's a nice thing to do. I just cooked burnt a sweet potato in the oven for lunch, maybe dinner will be better
I'm weird about sausage but I finally made it to this little market nearby that sells local, unprocessed (well, minimally. they basically grind it up and add salt, pepper, and sage) sausage so I made sausage patties with squash and zuchinni stewed in butter, and some sliced tomatoes sprinkled with basil, salt and pepper on the side. I freakin' love summer food.
I made a sausage, okra, and tomato gumbo type thingie last night, with corn bread. All grown/produced locally except the cornbread. I want to make a recipe I made up the other day in my head. Basically a southern twist on salsa - I want to use vidalia onions and spicy oregano from my herb garden instead of cilantro. And maybe some crumbled bacon. And i'm trying to think of something besides tortilla chips to dip in it, any suggestions?
I'm making a boston butt in the slow cooker. It's got Lipton soup mix on the roast; garlic, onion, sweet potatoes, and white potatoes.
I hadn't had pasta for a long time and had to concoct a saltless recipe for the sauce that I could have. I started with fresh tomatoes, added red bell pepper, mushrooms, onion, garlic, fresh ground black pepper, and oregano and basil and let it cook down for a few hours. I served it over rigatoni, and shaved some hard cheese on it, one of the cheeses from Quebec and sprinkled some chopped fresh basil over it. I would have taken a picture, it looked as good as it tasted, but I didn't have my camera with me. I had it with a greens salad with a garlic dressing.
