Mu nephew when young was really difficult encourage to eat any and all veggies. I found if I roasted them with some olive oil and salt and pepper and sometimes herbs he would eat them. Only way he would eat broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and kale. It changes the flavour to slightly nutty and that appealed to him. Keep trying as their taste buds can change and sometimes it is a texture thing with kids as well.
i had chicken breast pieces wrapped in bacon..with a baked potato and a bit of pickled ginger dessert was strawberries and a banana im still stuffed
Nothing until Tuesday when I'm making my girlfriend Calypso Steak with Thyme Mustard Sauce, Fried Plantains, Red Beans and Rice for Valentines dinner. C/S, Rev J
um, i boiled soba noodles and made a tahini based dressing from scratch. That counts, right?? (getting back to cooking after a few weeks vacation from it. ) edit-not sure if I've said it or posted here before, but I just absolutely love this thread!!! Like, I've been looking for something like this for the better part of a year. Just awesome recipes! Very inspiring!
I haven't cooked anything today. I was craving dried figs, so I got that. I might make a simple aronia&yogurt smoothie later.
Chocolate Day! I made duck with a savoury chocolate sauce, red potatoes with butter and dill, roasted carrots and a cucumber and tomato salad with a garlic chili dressing. And strawberries with chocolate ganache for dessert. Yum!
i warned up yesterdays leftovers which was chunks of ribeye steak that i smashed some sausage (johnsonville brat with casing removed ) against and then wrapped it in double smoked bacon and slow cooked it in the oven ...it was great but probably not good for my arteries
You're killing me. I really miss sausage. I saw a show recently where they made their own sausage at home. Wasn't really hard. I may have to try it, make some without all the salt. You can avoid all the filler, preservatives and food colouring they put in industrial sausages too.
i used to work at a sausage making place..there really isnt much fillers in most of them if you buy the ones with visible chunks in other words im saying avoid the lighter coloured fine grind stuff like breakfast sausages..and dont ever eat polish i used to run a machine that was so expensive the company would fly in a technician from germany to fix it it had achtung warnings all over it
Carribean dinner came out good in spite of the fact that I slightly blackened some of the plantains, and started a small fire in the broiler. The mustard thyme sauce was excellent. I was really surprised since mustard isn't my favorite condiment. C/S, Rev J
Finally.......Someone Who Follows My Style Of Cooking And Lived To Tell The Tail....... :chef: Cheers Glen.
Mustard is my favorite condiment. Depends though, the cheap Croatian stuff sucks. Ketchup I really can't stand anymore.
