I burned the living SHIT out of a couple pork chops! LOL. Tried to grill 'em in a skillet on the stove. Sorta forgot about them for a few minutes too long. DW is busy tonight, practicing for a recital tomorrow, so I thought I'd be the good husband and make dinnner. Shite. Ended-up going to Panda and bringing home some Chinese. C
The next thing I'm going to do is to boil eggs in the slow cooker. I'm really trying to not heat up the house because our window units are few and far between. I looked it up on Pinterest. They say it can be done. Hubby nearly killed me boiling a big pot of eggs in here last night. He's on a boiled egg kick.
I love the butter sold by the Amish, best I've ever had. And I bet it is much healthier than store bought.
The Sure Sign Of A Spoiled Meal Is If It Sets Off The Smoke Alarms......Trust Me Here, I'm Speaking From Years Of Experience...... Cheers Glen.
I had bacon, beans, leeks, orange pepper, a lil bit of chill powder cooked in a beef & ale casserole sauce served with a bit of french bread.
Going through the freezer for something to eat...so it's chicken tenders, tater tots and green beans tonight.
some "Keto Diet" Enchiladas. They were good, but next time green chilies will be included. Very bland recipe.
Aerianne when I first saw your "LogOff Warning" signature I thought for a few seconds it was an actual message from my computer...I was thinking, no, I haven't been logged in that long, lol.
Yes. I don't know how the whole thing would work if you weren't home to mess with it, but this is what all I did. The ground beef was frozen so I put it in the pot by itself to start with and I whittled away at it until it was all apart. Then I put some fresh garlic, onion, and bell pepper with it and left it on low for a couple of hours. It was lean so I didn't even drain the drippings off when I came back to check on it. I added jarred sauce and turned it up on high. When it got really hot, I broke the noodles and put them in. It needed more liquid so I added a couple of cups of water. I stirred it occasionally until the noodles were done. It's going to vary but I guess I let the noodles cook for a little over an hour. I saw a recipe on Pinterest for Creamy Crock Pot Spaghetti that looks even better but I didn't have the ingredients to try it.
^^^ I was going to try spaghetti in the crockpot tomorrow! Yours sounds good. But I want to try making it all in one shot without having to open it and muck with it, so I'll just put in puréed canned tomatoes with some herbs and probably garlic and red bell pepper and the noodles. I think I'll shred some mozzarella cheese into it for one layer and maybe mix together ricotta and mushrooms as a layer as well. That seemed to work well with the rigatoni. Spaghetti might be a little harder to layer, but I'll try breaking the noodles in half and layering as best as I can. The tomatoes are wetter than sauce so I think it should work. I'll try it for an hour or so like you did and see if it's done by then. It might need longer since you had the hot meat in it already and I won't have that. I'll let you know how that works. If you have any other suggestions, let me know. Hopefully the noodles won't stick together in one big mess. If they do, next time I'll have to stir them occasionally like you did. I like these pasta experiments!
I made ribs in the tajine for dinner, with red potatoes. I cooked them in a barbecue sauce I make up with tomato sauce with some spices and herbs, Worcestershire sauce and maple syrup. Mmm, they're so good.
i fried a couple of wild pacific salmon filets - probably over-cooked them a bit. I used olive oil based spread to grease the pan - the words 'olile oil' on the spread lid lull me into beieving it's good for me (I was out of butter and there were no sales on - butter in the market was $5 something - I had two pieces of whole wheat toast and a nectarine with it
I've got some chicken pieces marinating in hubby's health tonic. He wanted to try it. Honey, onions, garlic, and ACV. I don't know what I'll do with them.
