locally produced, (less than three miles from my house) cage free organic scrambled chicken and duck eggs, my homemade herb and brown rice hash, ( a bit gritty, lol. musta missed a little dirt on the parsley) Oat bran honey wheat toast, and a cup of some of the best tea on earth, naturally aged 12yr raw Pu'erh straight from the Menghai region of Chinas Yunnan valley. Life is good
made achiote marinated chicken tacos and cilantro and home made green salsa for lunch. making jerk chicken, fried plantains, and saffron rice for dinner.
it was. added pepper flakes still cause I didnt have enough spicy in the salsa. might regret that later.
I love softshell corn tacos. Takes me back to a kayak trip on the sea of Cortez, Baja California,..eating fish tacos on the beach. Now they had some spicy salsa! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_yJZLCNVseEs/TNMc-l5O4HI/AAAAAAAAASo/8lnlTFtX5Vo/s1600/IMG00074-20101103-1524.jpg
Those tacos sound and look good! I made coconut seafood chowder with clams and oysters yesterday, let the flavours meld in the fridge overnight and had it today. And fresh pumpernickel bread with butter. Yum! No pic, but I thought next time I might try it this way. And eat it really fast before it goes soggy!
Ive had a vision of the perfect fish taco. Do you know what achiote is? Annato seed. A good thick white fish with a red spicy garlic and cumin on the grill on corn with avocado tomatillo avocado salsa and cilantro.. not that I've thought about it much. Oh. I adore coconut. One, two I used to make my own bread bowls and home made chicken cheddar broccoli soup. or chunky chili. your food sounds awesome. where didja get the seafood?
I watched a vid on breakfasts from around the world. Woke up today (at 8am! Woo!! Go me! XD) and made an english style breakfast. Carmelized bratwurst, omellete (fold-over w onions and chee), and two waffles w applesauce. Waffles and applesauce are amazing in the morning!
Evening tea... This is a wild tree, raw (sheng), Pu'erh 'tuo cha' . This 'nest' is about the size of a quarter Here I'm brewing it right in the cup. Mellow, sweet yet fairly bright flavor. Nice body, lingering aftertaste.
just recently started drinking tea. usually drink chamomile cinnamon with honey and almond milk. or sweet iced tea.
warmed up 2 beef weiners in the toaster oven and micro'd 2 buns (they were a bit stale).... does keurig sumatra coffee count as cooking ?
DiGiorno Supreme Pizza (25 minutes at 400 degrees) I bought 3 at $8.99 each in preparation for Super Bowl Sunday Go Patriots Hotwater
I burned out on those a long time ago... Hey I hear the storm was centered over that 'low pressure zone" at Gillette Stadium.. :mickey:
I was planning on steak. might go out though. only question is, where. small town living sucks in this aspect, but 99.9% of the time I cook better than..
I just used canned clams and oysters this time. I have made a full out coconut seafood chowder before with fresh seafood from the seafood counter at our local grocery store. That version had lobster, scallops, crab, clams and oysters, and I put in onions, garlic, carrots and celery along with the potatoes.
I dont do caned stuff that much. some veggies, some fruit, tuna. other than that, i just feel icked out. Ended up splitting a 2 in porterhouse steak with my boyfriend, some sweet potatoes with butter, and a huge Caesar salad. It was awesome. I think we're doing Jerk chicken, black rice and yucca and potatoes in saffron with coconut milk and fried plantains for dinner today. which is weird, cause the housemate is coming back from the Virgin Islands today. last thing she should want is carribean food.
