i treated myself to a resteraunt buffette today. something i'd been meaning to do and not having gotten around to for a while.
i had several kinds of meat and noodles and veggies, cooked and seasoned in various wonderful ways.
this is something i do, about maybe once a month at most. usually more like once every month and a half or two.

something i've been looking for that doesn't seem to exist, would be frozen shredded/"pulled" turkey. that i could use as part of more then one meal.
i would have swore there was something like that in the stores some time in the past two or three decades.
closest thing i've found is chicken in bbq sauce. but what i want is turkey in turkey gravey. not a tv dinner, nor a reconstituted loaf,
though even the latter would be ok, and i haven't seen that in a while either. at least not up here in reno.
when i was down in roseville california, the latter was fairly common. but what i'm really looking for, maybe no one is making it.
for the stores i mean. there just isn't room to do that at home for myself where i'm currently living.

have you looked into pre-cooked turkeys?..some stores have them appaently http://www.butterball.com/products/whole-turkey/frozen-fully-cooked-baked-turkey

i guess it might be a problem though if theyre cooked then frozen it might be bad to thaw it and portion it out for re-freezing

i know what you mean though...its hard to buy good fresh food when youre only feeding one face with it....

Some grocery stores sell whole roasted chickens, but I don't thing they sell turkeys. If chicken is an appropriate substitute to you though, you could get one of those and just pull all the meat off the carcass with your hands and put it in freezer bags. My parents do that for lunch meat sometimes.

I can devour one those roasted chicken in one setting..
I got a turkey beast a few weeks back, it was precooked ,, only needed the thaw and reheat in the oven (cook time was short), I chopped it up and had it for about a week.
for some reason I think turkey holds a while as long as its cold.

Today I bought a bunch of cheeses because everything I liked was on sale for the holidays. I also got a slice of chocolate truffle cake. When I got home my boyfriend surprised me with a huge box of haida candy, which is type of smoked salmon that is my favourite!!!! So instead of cooking dinner I sliced up some fruits and we had cheese and crackers and salmon and fruit, with a slice of cake for dessert.

There's a barbecue place around the corner from me that smokes the chicken before they put it on the rotisserie then under the rotisserie they have garlic roasted potatoes getting coated in the drippings.

    Waiting on wings and ribs.

I had so much delicious food today! I had a big brunch at my boyfriends parents with ham and pancakes and potatoes and lots of other good food! His brother even made eggnog from scratch that was so tasty. Then we went to my parents for dinner and had turkey and stuffing and all that good stuff! I'm so stuffed!

Tonight I took my girl to a nice Italian place called Panzari's. I got chicken Parmesan with rigatoni. It was exceptional.

Mmmm that looks so good pr!

I had some goats brie and a bit of boursin tonight. I've been on a bit of a cheese binge it seems.... oh well its the holidays and all bets are off food wise. The goats brie actually wasn't my favourite. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried recently.

I went out with my girl tonight to a place called The Gate House. We both ordered the Buffalo chicken tenders, except she got mashed potatoes with hers while I got cole slaw.

To drink I had Bell's Winter White Ale.

Today I went on a drive to find the best cheese in the world. And that's what I'm munching on right now, the Glengarry cheese's Lankaaster aged gouda. It won the global supreme champion at the global cheese making competition.

Canada's doing pretty damn well in the food and drink industry right now! Yay!
