Atm,two laptops and an iphone 5s. GOD knows why they're so popular. The battery lasts ten minutes, you can download sfa without going through itunes, the ringtones are crap-and it's got 1/10th of the USEFUL apps a Symbian phone has. What? Oh...oops.sorry....carry on,chaps....
a pretty green mug/cup, that i bought recently, along with a bowl of the same color, at a 99 cent or dollar tree, i forget which. only the cup in on the desk, the bowl is over with the other dish-wear on the counter by the useless sink that continues over the tiny refrigerator and on top of which the micro-wave sits. my eyeglasses make their home in my desk when not on my face. a jar of tj's 21 seasoning salute seems to have strayed to my desktop, a refugee from some previous meal, as my desk also serves as my dinning table owing to the only other table having become a support for the On18" gauge model railroad. a box of cocoa truffles, from today's grocery sojourn seems to have taken up temporary residence here. it will soon return to its home shelf in the cooking area. a piece of tree bark, many times preserved in clear coatings, upon which bark beetle worms have written secret cosmic messages in their own mysterious language resides currently here as well.
It's a toy squirrel made of cloth. very cute! back to what's on my desk..... Loads of paperwork I just don't feel like attending to
At this moment,a guitar neck, two laptops,a mug filled with pens that don't work-and a bloody great big cat reminding me his bowl's empty!
an outgoing preregistration for a local convention that's waiting for a stamp on it or me to take it to the post office and get one there. a plate that needs washing from my breakfast i just ate. an archival accumulation of outdated corrispondence, also a stapler and a glue stick i don't ever use either. basically too much crap i don't use often enough for it to need to be there. (along with all the stuff i actually do)
a very lazy kitty that thinks she can use a computer. Well, she uses it quite well because she uses it to get my attention. It works every time!
a tj's pepper mill that i haven't put back over by the 'kitchenette' yet. and some unsalted saltenes too. a rechargable li-ir battery, w/ built in charger. all the other stuff is still there of course.
more then 100 items ranging in size between an eight of an inch and 6 inches on their largest dimention. a very small number of items that are larger then that. these being keyboard, monitor, letter tray, a 45 degree triangle, and a fresnel magnafying sheet. of course that's not counting all the books on the two shelves above.
most of the things on my desk, though numerous, are actually right where they're the most useful. its actually not cluttered in the sense of having to clear away anything. since i'm always making things on the computer, when i'm not cruzing the net, nothing really has much of a chance of landing where it would be in the way. and it is organized, certain kinds of things have their certain places where they're always sorted into so they can be found. of course these places are more like little piles, but the same things are always in the same ones. well there's a couple of dead tea bags waiting to be thrown away, and some empty tins from trader joe's espresso pillows, for sorting small parts into, or brush water when painting plaster rocks. there's a little folding pocket radio snack multimeter, and a spare stray mouse.
