This is how the headshops around here are too and I see no problem with this.

It is funny that most of the negative comments on here are from people who don't have kids. I know I don't have kids, but I am not in any place to judge people for what career they decided to pick. You have to do smart with any type of career you decide to have.

Hippies, my foot. Just listen to you people.

A headshop is just a business. There's nothing illegal going on inside there. You somehow think that just because of whats sold inside is going to warp children?

Any kid younger than about 6 has no real concept of the drug underground or the legalities involved with that. Let kids be kids, and when they start asking questions, you'll have had a few years of parenting under your belt to know how to handle it with the proper answers.

    Mellow out, wannabe's.

I'd rather a kid be brough up exposed to this so that PROPER answers can be given than to sweep it under the carpet and let them discover it on their own. It's like nudist kids. They're brough up with nakedness. They think nothing of it. And their attitude towards it is very, very healthy. Compare this with religious families that recoil at the sight and run to cover their childrens eyes.

As for the legalities, they differ state to state and even community to community. If somebody wants to close you down, they can use your children against you to apply that kind of pressure. Fact.

Hopefully, the laws will change in the future and this will no longer be the case.

I'm a parent, an ex-smoker of pot, and an avid supporter of pot. However, I never once brought my kids in with me when I went to my local head shop. I think it really depends on how the store is presented though. The things I would be most concerned with is the type of customers that may come in and my child would be exposed to. Many normal pot smokers out there, but there are some loopy ones too. I think the idea of taking your child to work with you when you own a head shop is plausible, but a lot of precautionary measures would need to be taken.
