why does it never occur to veg people that they might smell bad to omnivores? because they often do in my experience. especially people who eat alot of grains. i can't even stand my own smell when i eat grains. :tongue:

wow! i was totally NOT meaning to spawn a vegetarian vs. meat eater thing here. i am a vegetarian, and i happen to think veggies smell and taste better in general... but that's just my opinion.

i am somewhat surprised, however, at how carnivorous the RT crew seems to be. i guess i should have known, lol!

this is what i do have to say for myself as a vegetarian. while i'm all about vegetarianism, and i absolutely hate meat, and it is revolting to me, i would never try to "convert" someone. i am happy to say that i think not eating meat is healthier and is kinder to animals and to our bodies. i'm happy to tell people what being a vegetarian is about, and to really discuss it rather than attack other points of view. but everyone has their choice and i'm happy for other people to choose things differently than i do.

that being said, no, i won't date a meat eater. why? not because i hate meat eaters. not because i'm predjudiced. simply because not eating meat is a huge part of my life, and i prefer to be close with other people who share my same values. like people who are of differing political viewpoints (or anything else that is of high value to the individuals involved) having a hard time being in a dating relationship, i have a hard time being close in a loverly way with someone who likes to eat meat. that, and you can taste it when you kiss them, you can smell it in their skin... it just goes the whole way through the body.

just as, i'm sure, eating lots of grains affects my smell, lady of the freaks. i'm not saying others don't find my smell offensive. i know they do. they tell me about it. but i find their smell extraordinarily offensive, but i'm not allowed to complain about it, because perfume, deodorant, cologne, meat cooking, bathroom air freshener, scented lotions, candles, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum, are all considered "acceptable" smells, despite the fact that they make me ill. it's all in being able to see another's point of view, i think.
