I guess our involvement was just meant to be for that 5 years. Ppl go thru changes and grow apart.

After Jim and I separated, I went with a woman and he married Ruth, a long time friend that we used to live with off and on. (I attended their wedding and actually cried). Their marriage didn't last too long tho.

I left New Orleans and Jim went to San Francisco for a while then hooked up with another guy named Jim who was with him when he died in New Orleans. We said our goodbyes on the fone before he died.

Looking back it all seems so "Alternative Lifestyle" (Hippie?) but that's the way it was in the '70s.

What a coinkidink, the thing with princess Diana.

It's crazy- the experiences and people that touch our lives- however long or brief.

It sounds like you and Jim shared something that served both of you well and was right for that time.

    Fantastic photo, by the way!

    Thanks for sharing with us.

I don't think he looks scary per se, more like haunted. Co-dependent or just connected? Sometimes it isn't easy to tell the difference, and who cares anyhow? If your separation didn't break you, I'd say it was just connection. Even transient, love is what makes this life worth living.

And in a sidenote, that picture was taken about the time I was conceived, lol.
