It was instinct since i was a kid, i did it as a child but not properly and i lost too much wieght. So unfortauntely my mother made me start eating meat again, but i started last summer and i have tried veganism but it was for an animal rights fundraiser, it was fun but a little hard.

What really drew the line and made me become vegetarian was this hideous picture of a pig being slaughtered. I was already near the point of giving up all meat, but that picture really did it! I remember trying to eat a ham sandwich after that, and I couldn't do it. Ever since then I have been a vegetarian. And recently, I went to Florida to visit my friend Mikey, and he is a vegan. I learned a lot of new recipes and also, I learned a lot about the vegan lifestyle. While it's hard for me to give up dairy, I have been cutting down on the comsumption. I love cheese and chocolate, so it's going to take some time. But he really inspired me. I am thankful.

I guess one day I couldn't poop and my system felt real dirty. Plus the ever pounding of my dad to get more fiber in my system. So I decided to go vegetarian. It was a peice of cake. Now my system seems cleaner, the foods are generally healthier and my dad views me better. Plus he goes for the veggies alot more now too. Almost a vegetarian but he has too much courtesy for friends and fam that he keeps on eating meat. Plus he's just a smelly republican so that's kinda not right in his beliefs to set off any liberal image. :)

it also one of the biggest things leading the hurting of our environment since you seem really passionate about that. just search environment on petas website and youll see a ton of of things you probably wont like eating meat contributes to.,.

I feel really sorry for lobsters, lobsters were the first kind of meat I refused to eat. it's just so sad how they are trapped in those aquariums (sp?) with no idea of what is about to happen to them....:(

I only eat what I can kill (that is plants :) )
    Madcow disease
    Salmonella infections
    Hormones in Meat
Other poisons that are in meat, because of the food chain
Factory Farming, for it's cruelty and bad effects on the environment
I was very Overweight, and had a highcholesterol when I was 16 so there had to be a change! And being vegetarian was the answer!

That the Western World is just eating too much of it! (I have lived in other, so called 3rd world countries, where nobody considers not eating meat, because they eat it only once a week, which would be just fine. Imagine if everyone in Europe and Northern America would only eat meat once a week, suffering would be reduced a lot!)

mmm.....my friends used to eat a lot of fish....and frog....and other types of seafood....ummmm...I think that the socio economics have a load to do with what sort of meat people decide is affordable. They even eat crickets and cockroaches...serious they are a delicacy....however I am not wishing that people choose not to eat meat cause they can't afford the same lifestyle as me or you guys...or that we are reduced to living as they are...I hope that people choose because they want to....

    :)
me...I used to eat the fruit, the rice and the chilli!!!

4 years ago I was very interested in freedom, hippies, and nature. And simply one day I realised that I can't eat animals because they have feelings, spirits, minds, habits...like all of us. But my idea was not goog because of my age I haven't been eating meat fo 3 years, and one day I get ill, because of shortageof some special vitamins in my organism. That's why I think that people shoul eat meat while their organism is developing.

P.S. Now I'm vegan, but only for sometimes, because in my religion it is a Lent.
    Peace&Love.
    Sun for us!;)

my body. i was sick, so very sick and wasn't getting better at a respectable level. i read and studied, vegetarianism was my next test... it worked. it made all teh difference in giving me back my life.

ironic isn't it? it not only gave me a chance at life, but maybe it also gave a few animals a chance at life. (i can hope)

:):) i read about one lady who overcame cancer with a raw foods diet, which doesnt mean walking up to a cow and taking a bite out of it, lol.
she ate nothing but vegetables and fruits and plants and naturally occuring food sources, and didnt buy anything that was already made. she made her own salad dressings, and blended lots of things to make a very wide variety of food, and now has a very extensive recipe book about it my moms borrowing from this lady she works with :)
