Yeah, that about covers it.. Damn, we need a Young Hippies group or something, that way if people fill it full of shite they can be removed. So hows about it Skip?
Sometimes things are so broken it's better to start again... plus if I changed that where would people go to whine?
we used to have it, but skip kicked it out of the hippies section because he couldn't take all trhe whining anymore. if you wanna look up the young hippies section on this website you have to go to the whiners section
dressing like a hippie does not make you a hippie. dreadlocks do not make you a hippie. It just seems to me you pointed out all the stereotypes of a "hippie". what about your views on the world? What have you done? What should be changed? Wait a couple years, and READ. Learn that being a "hippie" isn't a fad or a style.
hmmm.. very true; i've never actually looked at the possible connection between indigos and younger hippies. And these days, more and more indigos are being born, which indicates a possible revolution to come...?
Um, I know that! I know its not a fad or a style I was a left wing environmentalist long before I called myself a hippie! I care about the environment, I want to stop war, I've been a member of the CND isnce I was 13. I want to be a conservationist when I'm older! I was called a hippie long before I came to embrace it, it was more of a discovery than a choice. And anyway, I ahve waited a couple of years. Gahhh, you don't know the story of my lofe, why pick up on two paragraphs? There's a few entries in my blog if you're that bothered that i think its a style or fad.
Hippie, is a lifestyle, a different way of looking at things. One who looks at society and the establishment from the outside can see what is wrong with it. A young hippie, is well, young, that's all. What the world needs is people who look at the world from a different, creative perspective, as opposed to sticking to the old, beaten, worn-down way of doing things that no longer work. In the words of Frank Zappa, "Without deviation from the norm, there is no progress." Peace
I have just recently found this board and I have to say I'm extremely pleased to see that there are still hippies out there. There needs to be another counterculture movement badly. I think there are plenty of youth hippies out there, I personally live near a ton of them. My friends and I smoke weed, and are thrilled with psychedelics and their spiritual attributes. I don't like when people use drugs just to get "fucked up" though, they should be used correctly in a way to bring out the consciousness in us all. Legalizing weed would be amazing as well.
I'm a young hippy, what makes me feel like one? Real question is, what means to be a hippy? To be a hippy (old or young), you have to belive in peace as the way of living, as the way of resolving problems between paople! Also means that you should belive in equality, and accept differences among people. You should belive in love as the strongest emotion in humans, and you should belive in freedom! Becouse if someone is led with love and tolerance, then for him there is no limits or borders! It is not dressing, or even music- it's yours point of view on life and people!
neohippies works, but names and titles don't matter, man. all that matters is peace, love, music, and unity of all people.
I think today is just like the day, we have different levels of hippie: From barefoot bike riders like Boogaboo(hope Im spelling right) to pot smoking, acid trying, music loving people like me. I may not love mud and being nude and I dont drink tea often... but I think I have every right to have a pig yell "damn hippie!" as I run off. I think Im as close as I can get in my environment at this time period.
