what is coke like?

anyone like to bang coke, then go in the shower? Robot town!

 

Coke makes you feel strong and confident and energetic but can ruin your life very quickly. If you do try it, don't do much and make sure you can't get more. PLEASE be careful with something like this... *shakes head*

 

is it anything close to the adderall high? just curious because ive tried it before and it was pretty decent high.

lol i was looking through this thread and each time i posted i was shooting coke.....so lame. My desire to do that shit has dwindled to almost nothing in the last month or so, which is a good thing indeed.

 

They are in the same ballpark but are certainly distinct. Using only pharmacology to come to my conclusions to keep it objective, both Adderall and coke cause euphoria by somehow elevating Dopamine levels in an area of the brain called the Mesolimbic Pathway. In short, higher Dopamine flux in this region leads to euphoria, motivation, and desire to repeat the stimulus that caused it.

How they differ is subtle but important. Cocaine is a Dopamine-Norephinephrine-Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor and a Sigma Receptor Agonist. SNDRIs prohibit a protein in the brain from doing its usual job in "recycling" excess levels of these Neurotransmitters. Thus, they accumulate quickly in the synapse. Activating the Sigma receptor leads to pronounced antidepressant activity but also causes convulsions at higher doses, a problem unique to cocaine.

Amphetamine (Adderall) works by "simply" releasing or pumping out Dopamine, Norepinephrine, and to a much much lesser extent, Serotonin. It doesn't activate any receptors directly. Now, this actually leads to more efficient accumulation of Dopamine in the Mesolimbic Pathway than Cocaine. However, Amphetmine is limited in its use by its strong Norepinephrine release. It releases NOR 4 times more than DA actually. NOR release causes awful heart side effects and makes the user feel terribly uncomfortable at certain levels.

So, enter again Cocaine. While Cocaine doesn't release DA, it only let's it accumulate via reuptake inhibition. So less DA piles up. But the key is that NOR reuptake inhibition doesn't lead to the nasty cardio side effects as a NOR releasing agent does. So you can get far more DA accumulated at a "comfortable" level compared with Amphetamine.

So, strangely enough, cocaine is more euphoric because it can precipitate higher flux of Dopamine in the Mesolimbic Pathway than amphetamine can WITHOUT precipitating cardio side effects that are so horribly unpleasant that the user will NOT re-administer the drug. However, it is worth noting that the Sigma activation makes high doses of Coke deceptively comfortable.

 

The first few times I did blow I didn't like it. After the 4th or 5th I started to enjoy it. You're just full of energy and can keep socializing, whether that's partying hard or just having a conversation. Expensive though, and you can tell from the way my opinion changed after a few uses that it's easy to see how people get addicted.

Can anyone tell me about cocaine and music ? Does it make one appreciate it more or can it distract you from it ?

(Just asking here because it has to do with effects and not with dosage)

 

I jsut tried it for the first time today. I rubbed some on my gums, went numb in less than a minute. I did 3 lines. I felt nothing. My friend called the guy and he said 8 other people said the same thing. So it was a disappointment, but i won't be discouraged.

 

I don't find the music enhancement anywhere as good as say ecstasy or acid, or even weed for that matter. Coke does have a degree of music enhancement but I occasionally get irritable with music coming down, probably different preferences tho cause I had friends who loved blowing coke and then go driving round town blasting music.

No. But it is similar enough to draw a comparison. Technically, I should have described the effects of insufflated Methylphenidate which is the closest pharmaceutical approximation to Cocaine there is. I agree with you, it is different than amphetamine.

But it is still in the same 'ball park' both subjectively and pharmacologically. However, MPH insufflated is smoother and sharply more euphoric. The lack of a jittery component is to be noted as well.

 

^I agree, insufflated ritalin is really fucking close, but it just doesn't have the glamour.

In my experience, the best way to describe the coke buzz is that you just feel so fuckin' cool. To be in a room full of cokeheads is to listen to a bunch of people try to show you that they are the coolest, it's just one big popularity contest.

It is definitely something I would try if I had it offered to me. Mainly just so I would have a "complete picture" of the major Dopaminergic Stimulants: amphetamine, MPH, and Cocaine.

 

what about like MDPV/Pentedrone?

Speaking of Pentedrone, I found that fairly similar to cocaine, almost like a meeting point between cocaine and MDPV. Had a bit more anesthetizing properties like cocaine and didn't make me feel all disoriented coming down like MDPV but had mostly a MDPV feel to the high.

 

I was always 'put-off' by MDPV for some reason by everything I have read. But Pentedrone sounds like a novel and interesting thing to get my hands on! I have actually never heard of it until now (although, its name indicates it is just a member of the '-drone' stimulant family) am I am assured to hear your recommendation.

In all likelihood, being nearly 25 and with no friends that do drugs other than alcohol (and the occasional 1/4 or 1/2 an Adderall that I will bestow upon them), my chances of getting Cocaine are next to nil unless I decide to make a vacation to Peru or Bolivia (which isn't out of the question - I find that area of the world beautiful). So a RC alternative is right up my alley.

 

I love coke. It sucks it only lasts 20 min. but it makes you feel invincible and so good. It's a mild high but it's a stimulating high.
