What Is God?

I only read this to see if you answered the question of where did the first enregy come from. You didn't. But I still enjoyed reading yuor thoughts.

Anyway, believe him or not, I always thought it was quite revealing that a person who had a rather strong grasp on scientific thought was a big believer in Creation. I'm sure he knew about thermodynamics, but he also saw that the existince of universe is not possible without a Creator.

I hope that made my perspective a little clearer. If not, I enjoyed typing it because it is always fun to see the fusion of science and religion.

When you get right down to the core of things….It's magnetism; ya know positive and negative forces always keeping things in motion, playing off each other….To me it’s that simple, but yet, on the other hand, very complex, all rolled up in a great big package. I'll once again ignore your insults. We had an amazing revelation after the 1st grarde that putting someone down does nothing to further your point. But anyway.

You talk about solar energy. I ask you, then, where did the sun come from? Was it always there? There is the main point in my question to you. You keep speaking about energy and keep avoiding the question of matter. Where, in your not so humble opinion did first matter come from.

Your dicitonary definition of thermodynamics was...well just that. It did not do much to answer the questions posed to you. You followed it up with an explination of the law of conservation of energy. Thanks again as googling that would have been way to hard.

And by the way, both of these principles were well know when Einstein was around. Do you have a better grasp of them than he did? Do you know more about time, space, or physics than he did?

If not, you might want to ask yourself how come when he looked at the origins of the universe he saw a Creator. But when you look you see...well you still haven't made clear what you see.

good point, krin. Einstein was just a human with emotions. If said oranges tasted bad, I would never believe him having tasted them myself.

But he was also a really smart man with emotions. A man who understood science and physics and math better than most.

Everything he said came from the same brain he used to study these subjects. I can't imagine that his thoughts about the origin of the universe came from emotion.

But I think I understand what you are saying...

Although your computer comment kind of lost me. I think it might be possible to estimate the probabilty of having a life sustaining enviorment created by entropy. But I can't really back that up...

 

i meant that the conclusion of a Creator Being will never result from studying physical interactions unless an emotional being dreams it up
the scientific explanation always breaks things down further,there wont be a point where it stops and says
"ok and it ends here,at God! Yes we've solved it!"

Some people use to laugh at the prophecies of the Bible, but then stopped laughing when the Jews started to return to Israel and retook Jerusalem back. You see buried away in the Bible are prophecies that state near the end of time the Jews will return to Israel and retake Jerusalem, and the generation that sees this happen will not pass away, until Jesus Christ returns to this world. Then there is Jerusalem East Gate that was sealed up hundreds of years ago. The prophecy states that the Gate would be closed and it would not be opened until the Prince to come opens it. The prophecy tells us it will not fail. The Moslems found out about the Prophecy and tried twice to break through the Gate to break the prophecy. They tried in 1917 and again in 1967. On the very day they tried to smash through that Gate, the Moslems lost control of Jerusalem. First to the British in 1917 and second to the Jews in 1967. That Old East Gate is still sealed today. It will be opened, only when the Prince to come opens it. The Bible has many prophecies like this, there are even prophecies that talk about the future of America, but you would actually have to study the Book before you would understand this.

The Bible tells us that the time will come when people will worship the creation rather the Creator. The Bible tells the truth about God, and it lets you know this, by giving you proof of God's existance. According to the Bible, shortly before Christ returns, the Jews will return to Israel, they will retake Jerusalem, and they will be surrounded by enemies. The Bible states this will all happen in the later years. The Bible also states, that Jerusalems East Gate will remained sealed, and all attempts to break throught the Gate to break the prophecy will fail. Their have been two attemps to break through the Gate so far. Both failed.
The Bible states the Gate will only be opened, when the Prince to come opens it. Today, Jerusalems East Gate remains sealed. The Bible also indicates that the generation that sees Israel become a nation will not pass away until all end time prophecies will be fulfilled. Israel became a nation in 1948.

The Bible describes an astroid that will strike the sea and will destroy a third of the ships in the sea. And it describes this astroid, and this event, 1600 years before the world knew astroids even existed.

The Bible describes a time when nations will be able to destroy other nations in one hours time. And it describes this, 1900 years before nuclear missiles existed.

It is not the breaking of the Ten commandments that will send a person to Hell. That statement was not true. What will send a person to Hell, is that persons rejection of Jesus Christ. For He is the blood sacrifice that will cover the sin that we all have. Jesus Christ fulfilled the 300 prophecies of the Old Testament, and He is the only one who has the authority to forgive sin. And that is the truth.

 

I guess I see what you are saying but with math and science it is possible, at least Einstein thought so, to say that there is a much larger chance of seeing this universe as having a creator than without it. Of course, no one will ever be able to claim absolutely because none of us were there, but we can deduce based on what we do know.

By the way, with all due to respect to campbell34, I will now disassociate myself with this thread. I do not believe in the whole Jesus thing and many other things like that. I was simply tackling this question as a matter of what we can deduce using science.

Again, to each their own, but I am no where close to where cambell34 is in terms of ideology.

I was watching this show on discovery a few months ago(matrix of life). This scientist thought that when we die we just get recycled back into the earth. He believed that the earth is one giant living thing. So he siad when he dies hes happy to know that he'll still be alive in the earth. I just cant except that. There has to be something out there. Life cant just be for nothing. Going back into the earth sucks. I want something more to happen when die.
