My advice is sod what everyone else says and do what you know is right for you

And also dont eat junk and rely on soya all the time. Youll end up feeling ike crap, when its so easy to be healthy and still eat yummy stuff

Start with what you know, think about what you already eat and make.
I am always surprised when people act like they can't cook vegetarian food,as if it is so hard... when most of the time a large portion of their meals ARE veg, or could easily have meat left out.
-Things like pasta, beans and rice(their many variations),cereal, PB sandwhichs, soo many good easy soups, potato dishes- and on and on, that most omni's eat regularly with a side of whatever meat..

I wish I would have known of the joys of Indian food sooner Bunnysuit!
Wheatmeat/seitan ! http://www.vrg.org/recipes/vjseitan.htm I have been veg for YEARS and only recently hubby started using gluten to make faux meat stuff like riblets, and chikn nuggets- we have been missing out.

Also , ITA- with plastic bagism about spending your money on beans ,whole grains and nuts instead of pricey frozen products. -That is beyond advice for vegs, for anyone buying groceries, i wish we had thought about spending the time, instead of the money to make more things from scratch sooner.
