The weirdest place I ever slept was in an electrical substation at work, I went in to check something in the middle of the night, there was an old armchair in there and I sat down, the warmth and the humming off the HV transformers just sent me off to sleep. lol
Oddly enough I worked nights because I don't sleep well, in fact I left one job when they said I had to do day shift. When I was really ill it was awful, I used to wake up at 3am and be wide awake, I worked it out once I was averaging 3 hours a day sleep, and because I had PTSD and depression, the doctors wouldn't prescribe sleeping pills, I was like a zombie for about 4 years.
Yeah, the only stuff that worked on me was Diazepam, but they won't give you that because junkies abuse it. I remember once I was in such a state I got my meds mixed up and accidentally overdosed. When I woke up the following morning it was all very strange, my empty food cupboards and freezer were full and there was empty carrier bags everywhere! I went into the local shop for my cigs and the fella asked if I was feeling any better, because yesterday, when I called in I didn't look well at all. I was convinced I hadn't left the house the day before, but obviously I had, I'd driven to the shops, done a load of shopping and come back home and remembered none of it, I'd have sworn on a stack of bibles I'd stayed in all day! I'm just glad I didn't have a car accident.
Not really, I went back to work last june, but left at Christmas, I couldn't put up with one of the managers, he kept pushing me to see how I'd react, he knew I'd got PTSD and thought he'd see what would happen if he wound me up, so I left, shame really as I was on £52K a year, still if I'd stayed and he'd kept pushing I'd have killed him, so now I'm back to not sleeping much.
Indeed they can, I've had quite a few trying to get a reaction, trouble is they don't like it when they get one.
