Oh Indie And so on ad nausem You seem constantly willing to pump out this crap whenever and where ever you can while knowing you have NEVER been able to defend it from criticism in any rational or reasonable way in open and honest debate. Ii is obvious from previous discussions that the whole ‘small government’ thing pushed by you and those like you is just the same old right wing political agenda which is about preserving or increasing the power of those with advantage at the expense of everyone else. It’s not about better government but cutting their taxes, it’s not about efficient government but about cutting the benefits going to the disadvantaged and it’s not about ‘freeing’ people but about trying to perpetuate their own wealth and influence. I ask you again why do you hold onto ideas you are unable to defend in any rational way in thread you run away from only to bring up the same shit somewhere else knowing you still can’t defend it?
What is up with so many people (even Turks) hating Turkey? I don't understand it. Have any of the 'haters' been outside Turkey? I've done a fair bit of travelling and I think they're one of the best countries on Earth. Nowhere near the level of Evil Sexless Empire that I see expressed seemingly everywhere online. Can someone break it down for me? List the 10 worst things about Turkey that make it such a horrible place?
People let the media form an opinion for them, instead of taking the time to try and form their own opinion based on their own experiences.
I dislike the attitude some Americans have of being superior. I am proud to be American but I can see we are very rude when it comes to dealing with the rest of the world. It's not North Kora, I would say that could be the "worst country" in the world. But we are not Norway. That is a country to me that is a good example of how a goverment can run. I know Norway and every place has problems but America spends too much on war and then we say there is no money for education and healthcare. Those things are "socialist" and should not be thought of.
Because Turkey is a conservative country by being a muslim country. It is the reason. We are not Europe.
I find it a bit weird to compare countries though. I mean, it's inevitable, (kinda the point of this thread, haha) but comparing Norway to...New York or California, or something might make more sense, somewhere with a similar size and population ...if not racial and income demographics. The US is just so large, so spread out, of course you're going to have more 'country folk' with less 'culture.' Also, the US is geographically isolated, we aren't smack dab (good name for a mj product, you can have that) right next to 20 other countries with different cultures and languages...
I think the main problems with America are super-materialism and foreign policy. Other than that it's a great country. Most of the hate for America is coming from the media and politics not from the people themselves imo.
There are also bad places in istanbul. Like Esenler, Gaziosmanpaşa, Güngören, Bağcılar, Tarlabaşı. Istanbul is a very big city.
American politics is dominated by cretinism, plutocracy, corruption, and total lack of transparency. In other words, it appears similar to any other political system in the world, more or less. I think there's so much hate for america specifically for two reasons. First, the amount of international media attention on america is greater than on any other country, by far. Therefore people are simply exposed more to it, and given the way the news might sensationalize and selectively report stories, this leads to a constant stream of news showing only the most idiotic aspects of the country. Second, there is a large disconnect between this perceived (and to be fair, mostly correct) view that america is deeply broken and rotten in many ways, and the quantity and quality of american patriotism and nationalism. People think, look how absolutely atrocious this country is, and now look at these rednecks living in it, who think it is the best country in the world . . . man, you really couldn't have made up a worse kind of population and state that feeds off its own bullshit! So part of the issue is that america DOES have many, many, severe issues both within its borders and how it interacts with the world, and its political system is equal only to the most degenerate african puppet parliament . . . combine that with relentless news attention and sensationalism and that's why people can't help hating it.
Gotta stand up Gotta try & shake off this creeping malaise If I cant stand my own ground How can I find my way out of this maze
when people insist its hatered of something, to refuse to lie to ourselves about it, i mean how much blowing smoke up somewhere is it possible to get? no i don't hate any country, but i really wish america would get itself something resembling a conscience. and right wing nut cases, are NOT a conscience. more the reason we don't have one.
People loved the America of the late 1790's and early 1800's. They loved the America that fought off the Central Banks of Europe and represented the most innovative, industrious, wealth creating aspects of man. The founding fathers and their ideas could only fight off tyranny for so long. The central bank again and again proved itself willing to employ the most extreme measures in order to retain or regain power. Andrew Jackson made it a point to kill the bank and he did so, while narrowly avoiding assassination. The bank has reformed itself several times though, The First Bank of the US, The Second Bank of the US, and now its third manifestation, The Federal Reserve. We have fully succumbed to this tyranny, and no longer represent manufacturing or wealth creation. Save for Silicon Valley, we create essentially nothing and instead leverage the dollar as the world reserve currency, and quite frankly sucking away the wealth from other countries. We drain the lifeblood of their economy. We are a vampire country for as long as we are controlled by central bankers.
