I love my D-35, but I really need a smaller bodied guitar... the damn thing is way too punchy and it has more volume than I need. Seriously, I could make someone go deaf with the damn thing. Good for folk and bluegrass, not too good for blues.... I need an all-around guitar. I do a lot of fingerstyle, but Taylors are too bright, I like the sound of a Martin and Santa Cruz. I've been thinking about their Pre War 000s... or an 000-15 slothead. Gibsons are a little muddy for my tastes.
if you find one tell me and good luck to finding one cuz they are gonna be wayyyyyyyyyy expensive well im gonna go to bed im way tierd
I like the sound of the ES-335, I just don't dig the weight and the feel of the body. I could go for a Languedoc... I've always liked the feel, weight, and shape of a strat, but I don't care for fenders... their sound is good, but not very versatile. I have a les paul that's a lemon.... I'm getting rid of it. Way too many electrical problems... on top of that, I have a Guild that just got a top crack and finish distortion (even in a humidified environment with a hygrometer) and I just bought it new in November.
i would sport a gibson L4 or a J200, thats about it though. nuthin sounds nicer than a collings SJ200 or an old dobro.
I like hollowbodies more than semi-hollowbodies... in fact, Trey has ALMOST the perfect sounding guitar. I'm sure a PRS McCarty hollowbody should do it, but they don't have the soul of an ES.
eeeeeek... haha, I played a Super J-200 model from the custom shop and it was muddy as hell. It's shocking... I pick up a guitar with maple body and sides and expect it to sound bright. If I was going for a jumbo or a 12 string, I'd go for a taylor.
That's why I like the Heritage 'ES-335' better. Almost the same tone as the Gibson, but the weight is less and for some reason the neck makes my fingers more happy. Have you tried any of the PRS Hollow Bodies George? If so what did you think? I know they come at huge price. Price is always an object unfortunately. I can speak all I want about these great guitars, but I play an Epiphone 'dot' simply because I can't afford a Gibson or Heritage.
Yeah, I could get a gibson or a heritage... I just find the body to be irritating. The hollowbodies are great if I switched out the pickups with some Gibson Burstbuckers or Seymour Duncan 59s... maybe some Lindy Fralins... they're just too nice looking for my tastes. I'd rather have a working guitar than something that shitty punk bands use just because they look good.
No, haha... I just find it really irritating that for some reason the only guitarists who seem to use PRS (besides carlos santana) are bands like good charlotte. etc.
