I reckon the more you do these tests, the better you get at them, because you start to get familiar with some of the questions, and types of questions. In that respect, it kinda makes the measure of intelligence slightly inaccurate.
It's all pattern recognition. That's not intelligence. In general smarter people are usually better at pattern recognition, but like I said, I consider them almost worthless.
Well it kinda figures. You wouldn't make them up from a panel of idiots.:hat: Kinda thought it would have been a man though... (I'M JUST KIDDING! )
Yea they gotta be different. I should take an American one. In France, 100 is considered above average high! And with my score.. I should feel retarded..
You shouldn't feel anything either way. I score high because I see patterns well. It appeals mostly to pseudo-intellectuals who want to feel good about themselves.
Pattern recognition is the essence of thought, lode. Now, if you tell me that thought isn't everything, we agree. But don't say, it's just pattern-recognition...it's unrelated to intelligence. Pattern-recognition is cognitive intelligence. Anyway, I should try taking a test sober and see what it's all about. At this point in my life, intellectual intelligence doesn't seem like the most important aspect of our existence at all.
I need to take a new test. I don't mean I'm pseudo-intellectual but I'm worried I'm dumber than average! haha (not that I really believe in the measurement of intelligence through an IQ test either at all, just.. curious)
it said i scored 94....that cant be right though i get straight a's in school and im at the top of my class...so im guessing these iq tests are worthless
She also writes something similar to a 'Dear Abby' column. It's also said that her IQ, when adjusted(due to the fact that she's middle aged and her IQ is based on a test in primary school) is roughly 185, which is not the highest in the world.
I would disagree completely that intelligence is simply pattern recognition. In fact if memory serves, which it doesn't.... different parts of the brain are associated with pattern seeking and memory, and what we consider the rest of the higher brain functions such as thinking, dreaming, creating. The Hippocampus versus the cerebellum.
Wow I have been trying several IQ tests so far and I get tired after 6 questions.. maybe it's a sign I have ADD.. hah
Or that you're on acid. Not saying you are, just saying that I have the same problem when I'm tripping balls.
I took the first test.. the one in English.. and I scored 107. Is that "intelligent" - considering it's not my native language and that I suck at math?
I just get annoyed with the pattern recognition tests.. I think it's just that I have no patience.. but if this was an official test.. then maybe I'd try harder.
Well, I would do a French one for a more accurate result but I think the scoring is a bit different.. I'll try one tomorrow.. maybe it's changed since last time I took one..
