I have no idea what you mean by "thinking" but, dreaming and creating are all unconscious activities and therefore not cognitive intelligence.

And that is WHY, IQ --- though important --- is far from being a comprehensive picture of humanity's psychic talent.

In fact, I don't even like the word "mind" so I use "psychic" out of vain lyricism.

grades in school have little to do with IQ... mostly based on effort

although i also don't trust IQ tests, particularly those on the internet. i'm pretty sure most of the internet ones are set up so that everyone scores at least above average, so they feel better about themselves

 

Creating is not unconscious. and neither is planning, problem solving or reasoning, by which I mean thought.

I completely disagree with your assessment that all intelligence is pastern recognition.

they may not have the best solution to age differences, but i wouldn't say they don't care how old you are... after all, the "intelligence quotient" is the result of dividing your mental age by your physical age...

not to change the subject but those sites for IQ tests are rigged. gives u high scores to encourage you to give em the 10 bucks.my score was 24 points higher than it shoulda been.

 

OK, I scored better on the American test than the French test.. and French is my native language, so.. kinda fucked-up.. anyways I scored 100 instead of 107 on the American one.

I guess I'm on the high average of intelligence.. I mean, I know these tests are bull, but, I kinda am disappointed here! I thought I was a *bit* smarter than that.. you guys are all geniuses.. I gotta be fucked by the math parts.. *sighs*

the problem is, you are only going to be actually tested in the states if you appear to be above average, appear to be below average, or there is some other reason to require the diagnostic.

most of the people who have actually been tested that you talk to on a day to day basis are probably going to be in the upper echelons, because, lets be honest, if you don't work with them, how many people spend time talking to retarded people?

I got tested because I impressed the superintendant of schools when I was young, and then I was tested again because the g.t. program in washoe county is badly structured, I scored well, this 83% of genius certifiable genius shit is nonsense, even if one were to accept I.Q. as an edn all be all measure. genius is fucking nonsense because it has shit all to do with what they test

I respect artistic genius, and I respect intellectual genius, but honestly? not this visual spatial shit, not this pattern recognition shit, and not a lot of the trivia shit they check.

I am intellectually well put together, I'm an emotional wreck, but that doesn't matter, by most models I qualify as genius and I KNOW I'm not that smart, the only way genius is legitimately impressive is if we accept that average is just, a complete failure, and, though I accept some people who I have met, and who bring down what average is with every breath they take make me want to feel superior, I'm not.

I"m 83% that you talk a good game. By most models you qualify as a genius? You have an impressive vocabulary, but you're trying too hard. I can talk like that too, and I still eat out of the trash at times. You're not impressing anybody.

 

Yeah I don't understand what the point in including general knowledge questions is, I mean you either know the fucking answer or you don't, so how can they measure intelligence based upon that.

 

Well I don't know about the American tests but in the French ones, you have 10 seconds for some questions, and 15 or 20 for others.. you gotta be fast, and memorize!
