Ganesh-If you did Zappa stuff; you guys are very good!-That man had sooo much talent-incredible-I can't remember if I ever saw them or not; but I have seen all the rock groups everyone has listed-everyone but the one and only Beatles-never got the chance even though there last show was in S,F, and I was home-Tooo many screaming girls-
My dear hubby loves Zappa. . . I just listen to whatever comes my way. . . btw, he's quite a bit older than me . . ha ha. .
Oh, oh, oh, I'm going to see Zappa plays Zappa on Dec. 22nd. I can't wait - I saw Frank years ago - this is going to be fun!
Though I am young, I feel that my soul lives in the 60's. The popular music nowadays often makes me ashamed of my generation, with a few exceptions of course. If you like sublime you HAVE to check out Slightly Stoopid. I would recomend Killing me deep inside, Wicked rebel, I'm so stoned, Couldn't get high, Sweet honey.....hell get 'em all BTW...why can't I meet people like you?? PEACE to ALL
Dollydagger; Thanks for the recommendation! I just ordered that one off Amazon; http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/artist/card/0,,690251,00.html Then in the last month I ordered some old Commander Cody, Laura Nyro, then some Greek and some East European (The Karelian Folk Ensemble and Maria Kalaniemi to be exact... Great stuff!). I kind of think of the birth or Rock n Roll days as the genisus of something much bigger that spread across the world and adapted in thousands of different forms. I think Jimi and Janis would be astounded if they could have known the thousands of variations and power of their simple formula-folk music run through electronic studeos and adapted to the times-might take. I just saw Slightly Stoopid lastnight(Halloween!!!) w/Pepper (another good "surf" band). Helluva good show!!! Check 'em out if you haven't. i've been listening to a lot of moe. lately. i feel they get overlooked; they are a good jam band w/ a lot of talent. definitely one of my all time faves. i just saw them in September. i still am a deadhead for life though!!! LOL !!! i listen to zeppelin, floyd, and bob marley too. Mostly it's been moe., the Dead, and Slightly Stoopid as of late and some Phish. Peace.
yea I've been diving in some stoopid, pepper and everything alike....I'm either going to their show in Charleston, or Bob Dylan in Pittsburg....I can't decide
Hey!!! I am so glad to hear that!!! Whe you get the dvd, let me know what you think!!! I just shared it with a great friend of mine tonight, and it was a blast.... doesnt get any better than that!
Dollydagger; GREAT STUFF! It's too bad I have to wander the world to find music that makes me want to " jump up and shout" anymore but it is so. It is certainly not happening here anymore. tundrahopper
^^yup, I know what you mean...at least the search for great music make me appreciate it that much more.
SWEET!!! I found that on vinyl, and Ive been jammin' it all week "well a young man aint got nothin in the world these days"
Beatles, the Dead, CSN& sometimes Y, My dh likes the Who, but after the whole pedophile-Townshed thing, I just can't.... I still like Janis and Jimi ect. I think the last "new" album I bought was either the Stone Roses, Oasis or Lenny Kravitz
