I can type pretty quickly, I think it's because I use the computer so much so I can just remember where the keys are and don't have to look down while typing. I can usually type quicker while not concentrating on typing (I know that sounds weird).
I type faster on a full keyboard than I do on my lap top. I also make less mistakes because the keys are so close on the lap top key board I types 2 keys at once a lot of times but I typer pretty fast. I don't need to look at the keyboard.
touch typist on any keyboard though I do make fewer mistakes on my own keyboards then I do on keyboards I am unfamiliar with. here's a humorous thought - I've been a touch typist since I was 15 on a typewriter (and I'll bet some kids here have never seen one!).
I type with two fingers, it has nothing to do with the length or content of my posts. I don't get wordy when I can make a point quickly, and don't mind taking the time to explain something that needs explaining. Typing with two fingers just means I take a little longer to post.
Well, I'm a keyboarder and I can keyboard with the best of 'em but I don't think that has any thing to do with the size of my posts, it's if I have some thing to say, then I'll post a few paragraphs. Bustramp
i type slow compared to all of my friends..they get frustrated with me. =[ the length of my posts depends on what topic the thread is.. but with me being me and all, i could probably write a ten page essay on the word "the" and the importance it has in the english language. lol =]
i think i' the worst here....never've taken any classes or smth... so i just type as i want to. In russian i do this quite ok.......but in english......with two fingers...like a stone-age person. That's why i hate typing!
I have developed my own 7-finger-system. My wrists move too, but I don't need to look at the keyboard. Maybe in the mid-80's I still had to, but not in the 90's anymore. I am not particularly fast - at least when compared to the fastest ones. I also make lots of typos and it takes time to correct them. My record was 615 characters per minute, though I am sure that whenever I get 'in the zone' and not concentrate on the typing but the text itself, I can type perhaps over 700 (I always get totally nervous when in a 'test-situation' and also when I think or write or talk about typing, or someone else talks about it, I slow down tremendously - which is why this post is so turtle-speed to write compared to my usual speed, hehe..) - Vortac
