i'm on ubuntu 12.04.4 fully encrypted LVM + encrypted account the encryption doesn't hurt performance as much as you think it would. theres a little lag until programs/commands get into memory but then again its an old 500gig 2.5' hdd from an old laptop i got that i can't fix yet (i broke it down into components) i really wanna make a fully encrypted USB stick w/ persistence .. ya know, like a real OS ?? $8 usb sticks are way 2 slow tho .. that shit would not play nice with all that encryption but i guess itd still be usable. ive seen usb 3 sticks they might be faster. i kno slc chips in usb sticks are faster but those are more expensive thatd be cool tho 2 make a hidden volume on it that way when u discard it the encrypted volume just looks like random bits in hex viewer and they really couldnt tell whether its actual data or not ^_^ .. plausible deniability !! im pretty sure tho, that in america .. we dont have to say shit ! the keyboard is one of the most powerful tools we have in 2014 i feel bad for the current generation in their teens. computers and tablets are way too easy now. they dont require much understanding of how they function. its hard to really learn that way, ppl go thru tel #s like lottery tickets

Xubuntu 14.04 LTS on the laptop im using. Think i like Xfce better than Unity, used to always prefer Gnome, and i still like Gnome. I believe the first Linux distro I ever used was Slackware with KDE.
