But what value does gold really have? Besides certain medical use, what is REALLY the value of a gold necklace? Next to nothing. Just like paper (or even digital) money, the only value it has is the value we pretend it does.

If there is any real value behind money, it is the value of the labour that it takes you receive it, but we all know that that is only true in a very liberal sense, because some people work really hard for nothing while paris hiltons dont work at all for lots. But thats the closest thing to it.

"personaly i hope the wholeeconomic system collapses so we can switch to a barter system"

Beautifully writ, soaring eagle. I agree. Money fuels denial, is grist for the fear-mill. Until that barter system is in place, being a very tattooed, mildly pierced, and dreaded me, I have been blessed with the opportunity to do work I love doing. I work in a funky, old coffeehouse-cafe place. I also sell books online; brings in a bit of cash to feed all of my animals. Some day, I'd like to put some of my crafts out there for sell or trade or give-away, whatever.

What it really comes down to is not the system of trade or economics, but rather the integrity with which the system operates with. Communist Russia, although i guess sort of communism, was really just another facist totalitarianist police state, just like the tsar the "communists" had just kicked out. You can have a system of capitalism where people are open an honest and not out to screw over their neighbors on a daily basis, or you can have one thats incredibly immoral and corrupt. You can have a bartering system which is fair and honest, or one with one asshole who is the only one with a certain commodity fucking everyone else over.

What really needs to be done is not neccesarily change the foundation of the economics but change the the foundations of the way people go about treating each other and much more positive change will happen, no matter which system might be a little bit better than the other.

if you figure out a way to do this...well...you'll be my hero

people in general are only looking out for themselves...screw others, they're just a means to get to where you need to be, or an obstacle keeping you from getting there...that's the mentality of most it seeems

and then get a band together...

    and then write songs...

well you'll be the first person i contact after that highly unlikely sequence of events!

oooo me too...Ive always wanted to be in a band. There is just not a high enough demand for someone who plays the flute and clarinet. lol.

hey Callie can I audition for your band? I can do a rockin cover of Sweet child O mine on the clarinet?!

Lawd Im a geek. Why did I ever choose the clarinet? Oh well....better then the tuba...I think. Hmphf. =]

    oooooo i want to hear!

i want to get a cover band together...an emo/screamo/pop-rock/metal cover band...

but we wont cover those kinds of songs...we'll cover oldies...

    like the zombies!

"Well let me tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the color of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
    But she's not there"

would be fun to take songs like that and change em up completely, only keeping the words the same

so, i'm a full-time university student and i work at a massage therapy clinic.
oh, and since someone said alllllll of my posts are negative i'd just like to add that it's none of you people's god damn business how SE makes money to live, and it's really fucked up that you would make fun of his disability, Callie. Especially since you admitted you suck off the teet of others as well. Oh, and to all the rest: Nobody wants to buy your lame hemp necklaces or beads. It's very unrealistic to think you would make a substantial living off of crappy art.

Vigi....nobody is making fun of SE's disability only his christ like mentality. by the way has he asked you to marry him yet? cuz generally if you have a vag and a pretty face he'll flirt shamelessly with you and feed your ego so that you'll handle his battles on here for him. Notice he doesnt come here anymore??? Yeah thats because he knows he's crossed us all one way or another and that he's in the wrong...he's just to pride full to say sorry.
