I loved this movie, Christian Slater was my favorite as Clarence and when he said "Eliot, do I look like a beautiful blonde with big tits and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream.."... ahh, memories.. As for Romance movies, not a huge fan of them I liked Moonstruck...Uh, Brainddead/Dead Alive is not only a love movie but a heroic love movie Yeah, The Man with Two Brains, he finds love with a brain not only romantic but heart warming as well...
You can like whatever movie you like. It has nothing to do with being "alternative" and "funky". It has to do with having a good script, even if it's something corny, but if you know how to tell the story and you can actually have the dialogue be interesting, well you're good to good. To me, that was not the case with P.S., I love you. I like movies like The Last Kiss, The Notebook, Garden State, Elizabethtown, Crazy/Beautiful and there's nothing "alternative" or "funky" about them. I dont think they're GREAT movies either, but I like them for what they are. People here can be so touchy when someone criticizes something they like. We all like different movies, different music, different everything. It happens.
i loved true romance, and i don't care about the hyperviolent hilarity, i thought NBK was a beautiful love story.
i did really love that movie. it sorta snuck up on me one day when i was sick. i didn't expect to like it so much but couldn't find the remote. i'm glad i gave it a try.
I'm gonna have to rent these. I'm in a mood for Romantic movies myself. I remember the first time I admitted to myself I enjoyed DRAMA. Jesus.
it wasnt a slag on you, i didnt even quote you, yeesh.. but people who come into the video store i work at and rent a lot of the stuff recommended before i posted (eagle vs shark, etc) have the attitude of "im so cool im so alternative and different adn weird and you are just not alternative enough for me to even speak to" and it riles me up. watching only movies people have never heard of doesnt make someone cool, and its a damn good way of missing some of the really good big movies in other news, damn near every customer i have talked to loved ps i love you, at least 50 people in the last week have said it was good and they were happy the rented it, etc.. and even my store manager, who is a big bear and only likes action flicks said it was damn good and that i should watch it. so, yes, youre allowed to have an opinion, and are certainly allowed to not like it, but boatloads of other folk really liked it (though boatloads also like everything will ferrell does and i hate him, heh)
i was gonna say the notebook and garden state, elizabethtown and crazy/beautiful are great movies i thought romper stomper was pretty damn romantic that movie always makes me horny woah i just saw kc already said romper stomper man
That is very true. I really thought your post was about what I said of the movie, so I felt the need to explain better.
