hipsters are like the 21st century hippie. I mean they're cool people, and a few are annoying you know? pretty common, but they have a pretty bad rep of just being selfish and arrogant, but its just a stereotype. I mean, if you look at them, they're not all too different from hippies, but they're still differences.

Hipsters are just into drugs, art and music as any other would be . The urban hipster likes the weed and molly, underground hipsters, who i actually associate with myself personally, because like i said, some are really really cool, we like to do acid and shrooms and other psychedelics. it's all a good time.

Now hipsters love art, whether it'd actually be painting, sketching, poetry or writing. My friends are way more into ceramics and painting and drawing, myself into poetry and writing. Variety is the spice of life

And music, now I don't really dig hipster music, I like a select bit of it is pretty good, but the rest is, well, I gotta be honest, it kinda sounds the same. Like hippies back in the day, you had hippies who made nice mellow and soft music, other experimented with noise, effects and all sorts of craziness. Same with the hipsters, you got you're "Chillwave" the hipster labeled music and got your current noise core, all that good shit.

To wrap it up, on a scale of one to ten, i'd say hipsters are about like a good seven, no more though, when it comes to similarities to hippies. I mean, they take a lot of elements from the hippie era and just kind of modernized it you know? so don't hate them , unless they are mean to you first, then its okay. Cause some are jerks!

there aren't many actual hipsters around where i am. i usually only see them at raves and though some have been nice to me the general impression i had of them was sort of elitist, like i didn't listen to the right kind of music or where the right kind of clothes, so i was an outsider.

 

yeah definitely I know what you mean. That's their arrogance and snarkyness that they are known for. And I've encountered a few myself at the concerts, you're right, and I just simply ignored them. Problem solved.

Hipsters is just a cult or movement, whatever you wanna call it, but inside, we're still all the same

hipsters have flooded chicago. its basically just a new metrosexual trend for the males, (along with the 'swag' trend) and the ladies have gone in a new direction for how they dress, as opposed to being sexy all the time, they go for different looks now. sometimes they're annoying, but over all they're alright.

the also have the idea that they don't like to look like other people. why do other people want to look alike, anyway?

 

Hipsters have flooded more than Chicago. More like everywhere. In the 90s when hipsters actually got started like the elephant 6 and such, those were the real hipsters. When it actually was a statement to not conform to society's ways and teaching and or like a DIY sort of attitude. But nowadays, like anything, most of the time it's just an image.

 

Hipsters are really annoying... they make unique people void most the time...
Hell your stereotypical homosexual person gets called hipster before gay now. Anyone who enjoys older styles of clothing get called hipster rather than classy. Hippies get called hipsters. It is rather annoying haha.

I generally wear fisherman's pants and what would be considered "hippie shirts" and what not when I am at home or have nothing all that important to do and people consider it to be a "hipster thing".... I was like.. seriously? A hipster thing? I dressed like this before I even knew what a hipster was..
Even listening to older music like The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead etc etc is considered hipster for some stupid reason.

 

This doesn't seem like Hipsters are the problem. This is a problem about people judging other people because of what they wear. And it's really kinda douchey.

There's hipsters by dress that know shit about music and then there's ppl who dress how they want and know more about indy rock, indy hip hop etc... sometimes they over-lap and those ppl are maybe the scene kids but idk... labels are really stupid.
