another set of cheap earaphones so i could have a seperate one for the synth from the one for the computer. along with a bag of reserve cat food for when the bin runs out and no one else has remembered to get any, and a bag of doughnettes, as if i needed fat pills.

i'm waiting til after the christermass retail feeding frenzy to buy non-food items on my to get list,
so my ears won't have to bleed, from the so called music they play in the stores this time of year.

[this is weird,so bear with me]
Last thing I bought was £20 of fuel,on the way home this evening.
I went in to pay, said "Pump #2,Raj"....and a musical siren went off!
I'd won an iphone...it's an iphone 4s 64gb. [according to the box]
    It's sitting here now,in it's sealed box,on my desk.
I have NO idea wtf that was about, but Raj made a big thing of it.
    Photos,big grins,back-slapping and handshakes,blah blah.
I didn't have the heart to tell him I don't want it,he was SO chuffed.
I tried to use an iphone once before-it got RIGHT on my tits.
That one got sold pdq,I returned to Symbian..but I'll HAVE to keep this one.
Raj is a good bloke,I would NOT hurt his feelings by selling it/giving it way.

    Strange old world,innit.

I need gas, actually forgot to get it today on a long drive, but it turned out perfectly, I made it home just as the needle went below the line, still no gas light on. So I'll spend 40 bucks or so on that tomorrow, or soon. Was going to tonight, but didn't have any other excuse to go out, and now I can't, as I'm consuming my most recent purchase.

Skipped the movie? You are behind! :p

I saw it on tv since I stopped reading the series after part 3 I think (when those dementors came in).

different media can't really tell the same story the same way. i don't mean that has to make them wrong. just not the same story.

I agree. It is just that I myself couldn't be bothered with the story anymore anyway, so when the movie adaption was broadcasted on tv I thought well I'm not gonna read it so why not watch it. But taking notice of a well told story by reading it in nowhere compares to watching the movie adaption. It always loses a lot of magic your own mind and imagination adds to it. The lord of the rings (and also the hobbit) movies are a great example of this imho (same with A song of ice and fire/game of thrones). They are entertaining but not much more while the books are fantastic when you get into them. They really can emerge you into the world with all its background history and info. Well, a good movie can do this to at times but only for about 2 hours or so :p

this is my third time reading the series but my dog chewed up the last two books so I've had to repurchase them.

I like the first Harry Potter movie. It stuck extremely close to the book. The rest of the movies mostly piss me off because I felt like too much was changed.

I also agree with your assessment of the lord of the rings movies. I enjoy watching them but I also feel like the books had a very fantastical, whimsical element to them and the movies mostly miss that.
