I don't have something personally against anyone who likes Bush, but you are so ignorant, to rag on france after they were the first country to express their sorrow to the the US after 9/11...they may not be an "angel" country but they sure are equal if not better than the US and the way their government acts...

Hey dickhead I happen to be a European, resident in the UK and I often go to France and did once live there.

Actually Cap d’Agde is a holiday resort, which attracts people from all over the World, I even meet a few American families there.

As to the French character and civilisation, Americans should remember without them there would never have been a USA, so you could that if you are American you owe your very existence to the French. (Or imagine we could have both been Brits)

Thats a 'what if" question on whether we would have won the revolution without france's help.

What we DO know is that france lost her country and Canada/Uk/and the US got it back for her.

What we DO know is that without the French, the war for American colonial independence would not have been won, the way is was, and the fact is that nobody knows what would have happened in the colonies without French involvement.

In a similar sense nobody knows what would have happened to France (and Europe) without US involvement.

The USA may or may not have existed without the French, but the assistance of the French did allow the American rebels to win the war in a particular way.

First German is a European language and many argue that Russian is also so, some at least would be speaking German or Russian whatever the outcome but I think I get the gist of your clumsy retort.

THE Germans or Russians could have been dominating Europe or not but the assistance of the US did assist the Allies (who included the Russians) to win WWII in a particular way.

Most historians agree that without the French naval blocade of English ships to American ports the revolution would've failed. So regardless if the colonists could've won without French support, it is a historical fact that the French provided significant help to the American cause. And early USA had a lot of French influence. Jefferson & Franklin loved the French & Washington DC wouldn't look the way it does without its French designer. And later in history, where did the statue of liberty come from? You guessed it, France in 1876.

To make France into an enemy now would be both culturally and politically stupid. It doesn't mean we've got to listen to them all the time, but let's restore the tradition of good will.

 

Well, dont forget that the northern part of the war was won by Americans(and some of the iroquois) before french involvement..most historians agree that the turning point was the battle of saratoga(which did bring in significant funding from france and eventually their military aid). But yes, the french navy in the battle of chesapeake and yorktown was the the final nail in the coffin of the british army.

No ones saying we should make an enemy out of the french, atlesat not me. I just think its silly when people say "if it wasnt for the french we wouldnt have a country!' As i said before, its as stupid as americans saying "if it wasnt for us the europeans would be speaking german/russian." Both are unfounded.
