No, Kerry supporters and liberals seem to have this idea that only their thinking is right, that anyone who thinks different is a dumbass or a moron. How many times have we've heard this, "you gotta be a moron to vote for Bush"
Most of the world believes that Bush is the single greatest threat facing this planet. The fact that the US is evenly divided does show a bit about how gullible we are. A majority of those who say they are voting republican beleive: 1) There are or were WMDs in Iraq. 2) That Iraq had close links with Al Quida. 3) That Bush is a conservative - despite many conservative groups saying otherwise. Besides this, the man can hardly use the english language. It is pretty clear that Bush himself is pretty much a moron. I guess it takes one to know one.
What do you expect from a liberal forum? I wouldn't go to a conservative forum expecting people to cheer me for supporting Kerry. Many of us honestly think you must be a moron to support Bush. I wont say I think too differently...
for some yes, but for others life will end for so called freedom, liberty and spreading american ideals
if bush wins im gonna be HIGHLY disturbed... i dont mean that lightly. i dont know what ill do. but ill do something.
Quite true...but sometimes its fun to gently challenge beliefs and politely rattle cages every once and a while.
the constitution as it currently stands won't allow bush to run for a third term. that means that four years from now, assuming there will be an election four years from now, the field is wide open for 'third parties' to begin building their coelitions, NOW! personaly i have quiped that what i would do is 'duck and cover'. well in a lot of ways that's what i've been doing all along. but now i think it's time to start digging trenches. i mean that socialy and especialy politicly. this is not a time to cry in our beer. i'm not going to suggest anyone take actions that would put themselves at greater risk then they are willing to accept the potential consiquences of, but i'm not going to tell anyone not to do ANYthing either. have the people spoken? have the concerns of the vox populi been heard? i don't honestly know. i do know the voting populas have been cultivated like mushrooms as the old saying goes (i.e. fed horseshit and kept in the dark). appearently i seem to have overestimated how many people would turn out to have realized this. clearly the machineries of propiganda have defeated the common good on a large stage in one well publicized battle. nothing is ever over till it's over and some things are never over i feel the biggest failure in the proccess has been the failure of both candidates and media to focus on issues how do we create a mechanism that will force them to? i think that is something that needs looking into. i don't think people are indifferent to issues and in refusing to focuse on any but the smallest segment of the spectrum of them, media and political machinery alike have talked down to us as if we were children and i don't see how anyone of any political persuasion can fail to be insulted by its doing so =^^= .../\...
People are suckered by the media into getting involved in side issues. As an example. the media was debating whether or not the candidates should be sitting or standing during the debates instead of the problems with the economy, Iraq, healthcare, and social security. The media did a good job of turning the campaign into the Scott Peterson case. It's a diversion that takes peoples' minds off much more pressing problems. The problem will get worse as the media continues to become controlled by only a few large corporations whose hearts and interests are with people like Bush. The media fed the same images and soundbites to Americans day and day after day; support for the Iraq war, protection of Bush's reputation, etc. None of the major networks would say anything that might make them look unpatriotic. When was the last time you saw an ordinary person or group on one of the cable news channels who opposed the Iraq war? It's always the same group of guests from Time, Newsweek, AOL, and retired generals from the military. One of my favorites was a remark made by a U.S. military official at the multi-million dollar PR facility in Qatar. When asked by a reporter about a U.S. missile that hit a house and killed 17 Iraqi civilians, the official replied: "We believe that may have actually been a missile fired by Iraqis that went straight up and down and hit their house." After so many repetitions, people believe what they are told even though it's irrationale.
Just checked the cable news channels. The American media today is back to Scott Peterson and the Michael Jackson case.
Shane:Life will go on, yes... for you, you arrogant, careless son-of-a-bitch. Mad:I don't think you're stupid for voting republican on the average, but I think you're stupid and uneducated and ignorant to the issues if you vote for Bush. It wasn't so bad when you voted for Bush in 2000. You hadn't had past knowledge. We had no case for the war in Iraq, we lost 1M+ jobs, and hundreds of thousands more to out-sourcing, older people with little money (who ironically voted for Bush on the majority) are being screwed because Bush blocked cheaper medicaid from Canada because he wanted to help his pharmaceutical pals here in the states and allow them to press the rates even higher. He has no environmental plan, and no plan for health-care. He had no domestic plan. I feel like I'm repeating myself (maybe because I am), but fear is simply his tactic, and he knew most people were politically inept, and would rather watch American Idol than read a book and become educated on the issues. People simply didn't believe Kerry could protect them, and moronically voted for the man who "kept us safe". It's pretty sad when someone starts a thread called "why did you vote for Bush" and no one can give a good reason, nothing better than "because he saved babies in the womb and kept gay people from getting married". Typical. In this period, we have a LOT more to worry about than abortion, and if you're intelligent, you realize, it's your state rep's decision, so vote on that level for a republican, not an idiot at this higher, more important level. It's your own fault for giving precedence to abortion and gay marriage, 2 issues that aren't changed at the federal level, over a failed war, lost jobs and a dead economy, in a federal election.I've lost all respect for anyone who voted for him this time around. What would I do? I don't know that I'd stick around. I'm greatly considering Canada. I never really liked most of the Americans with whom I came into contact anyway, though, so it's really just a good reason to pack up and go. But, if you love America, you might want to stay and ride-it-out and hope that the Democrats can get anything passed in a majority republican senate and house of representitives, with a majority of republican appointed supreme court judges, and a neo-con imperialist president. Yes, he is an imperialist, and you have no ammunition with which you can fight me on this issue, because it doesn't exist. He's simply protecting and serving...his private interests. Halliburton, again, I'm repeating myself, stood to gain 75M in profit through subsidaries and millions more in direct-tie contracts. Bush is not there to "protect" anyone from a tyrant.
WTF!?!? I voted for Kerry/Edwards. If Bush is re-elected I still have to work my 40+ hours. I still have to feed and protect my son. I still have to look toward 2008. LIFE GOES ON, IT"S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, WE WILL HAVE OUR DAY! Stop crying and do what you can for damage control...
1. If you are a human being, capable of compassion and caring about other people. If you can read and sort fact from fiction. If you can see at all and you voted for Bush, then I think you have a problem. 2. I never said Bush did not win honestly. I think he did. That is what scares me.
It doesn't matter for whom you voted. You're a sick person if you can make a statement like that, and shrug off this neocon agenda coming back into play. It's not the end of the world... for you. It's the end of a lot of people's world, I guarantee that, and in hypotheticals, it could be the end of the world for a lot of young Americans who will see their final days over the next 4 years in the middle-east. No, there won't be a draft or anything! People were stupid enough to believe Bush's lies the first time around, and I can't blame them, they didn't know better, now they should have known.
no, it isnt Socrates, it is Plato, and his example about democracy and the state. The book "the State" belongs to Plato. It is also Plato who sees the source of all knowledge as the sun. You might have been mistaken because in his book, Plato makes Socrates (his teacher) tell and explain everything. He makes his teacher tell (plato's) his ideas.
