It's unfortunate not to have acquired an appreciation for cottage cheese. And about butter milk, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of tasty baked goods etc. that butter milk is the superb ingredient. I( for one) will just take your word for it, bm being unpleasant to drink alone.
Since my father passed away, I hate having a lot of sugar in my coffee... That and I am no longer hungry in the mornings...I used to be starving the second I woke up
Hi lovely, my condolences to you for your loss. Although taste preferences do change over time, it seems in your case if this is a sudden change; it may have to do with trauma. However- you may not desire as much sweetness in life currently; when it's time to, you may once again. ...Seems your appetite being affected as another grief symptom is quite expected. Peace and Blessings to you and your family. *hugs* .............Valid point, not only do our preferences change; do to comparisons of food with time and age, some changes can also be circumstantial.
Well...I used to not touch spicy things, but that was mostly out of being a bitch and just refusing to eat them. I love the shit out of spicy stuff now (but as I grow older, my heartburn grows more frequent and worse, so now my tongue is at war with the rest of my digestive tract). I also hated mushrooms as a kid, but I like them cooked certain ways now. I've never really liked Jello or gelatin of any sort, though I will indulge if it has whipped cream, haha. I also used to hate garlic, but I really like it now. But onions and I...we will never be friends. Onion powder is fine, cooking onions and then picking them out is fine, but fuck you, I won't digest one of those things. Grrroooossss.
Kraft Macaroni & Cheese!!! :2thumbsup: :auto: :drool5: I've inhaled tens of thousands of boxes of it in my lifetime, since before I can remember. It will never get old! I would eat it every day but I know it would make me fat if I did. I eat it once a week, at least. Nothing has changed for me! I still love all the things I used to, and hate everything I used to just as much. Odd that I hate onions, but love onion rings. It's all in the mind I guess.
This thread and everyone in it can go to hell! Now that that's out of the way, I can't remember a single vegetable I was friends with as a kid. Now I really like most of them. Broccoli still isn't something I get very excited about.
But broccoli is amazing if you cover it with cheese. And even better if you throw some rice in the mix.
Thank you very much...and I know the taste preferences are based on depression and grief and whatnot...I just find it strange they happened so quickly... And lode, how can you not like broccoli?! Broccoli is like the Jesus of all vegetables
i don't think there's anything i used to like that i don't anymore. mostly because i like almost every food or food-like item currently in existence. i think telling people what they may or may not post in any given thread is a form of spreading negativity, and i'm sure evaluating negative comments as being unwelcome could be considered being critical.
Honestly nothing has changed for me. I always liked vegetables like spinach and brussel sprouts and carrots, ect... The only thing I hated as a child was raisins and I still detest them. I always hated processed foods and fake sugary things like soda and I still do.
As a child I couldn't stand onions and tomatoes (especially raw). Now they are some of the foods I use the most. And a beefsteak fresh outta the garden- mmmm....
definitely! my dad used to make broccoli with lots of cheese on it when i was a kid... amazing! or making soup with mostly cheese and broccoli, and some celery or mushrooms or something... that is awesome :2thumbsup: i heard that your taste buds dull over time - so little kids are more choosy about their food, and you become more forgiving over time...
I think that we tend to try more foods and have exposure to more foods as we get older. Children tend to be exposed to what their families eat. Today food choices are more global and products are available that not that long ago were not on a regular basis. There is also more exposure to variety and different styles of preparing foods. We are also able to taste different cuisine more so than any other generation. Dining out is more common and the choices are endless.
More people globally will get healthier, fresh foods once population is cut. If we had two billion people and not 6.5 I bet those two would live better lives than the 6.5.
This is true. The demand of supply makes mass production so much easier for the world, when in actuality, our meat and produce is much less healthy for us
