I'm not looking forward to taking my granddaughter to the dentist today.

I'll have to sit in a room with a bunch of really smug people adults; and it's school break this week so I bet it will be packed with kids.

I can never get wi-fi in there, either. People are all over the internet with their smart phones and I'm sitting there with a flip phone and a tablet.

Miserable, I tell you; just miserable!

    Whoa is me...

Seriously, nobody likes having to go there, I know...but I bet I dislike it more than anyone else does, lol

That was the most laid back trip to that dentist I've ever had!

Not many people were there, they took her in on time, and I wrote a long overdue letter to my nephew while I was waiting. :D

I've been bothered this week, about the former boyfriend/his mother sending me messages.

I decided to send him a message and to make myself clear.

    I sent him this:

I feel like I need to explain myself. We last messaged at the end of May. After that I made a decision for myself. I decided to make myself happy without you. I unfriended you and everybody in your family. Three months later you texted me with "Hey" and "How are you?". I really didn't want to think about you or talk to you after 3 months. That's it. That's what I'm doing. I'm making myself happy without you. I love you but I have given up on us.

    He responded:

I was wondering what happened. I've sent texts and I was curious how you were

    I did not respond.

I was literally trembling during the message exchange but I meant what I said.

He has a clear explanation and I am done with all of that.

That poor raccoon keeps wandering around not knowing what to do now that he's homeless... You can just sense his/her dejection.

    I didn't eat dinner.

Ten p.m. and I'm having some ramen noodles so I can take my dinnertime medication. I have a headache.

They get kicked out of the birth home and need to go find their own space.... Can't live with Mom and Dad forever.

    That makes me sad. dang...

I thought they had a while with the mom. Well, longer than this one apparently had to be wandering about dejectedly.

But since you saw it come from a tree, he at least has somewhere to go, right? Are you going to leave some cat foot out for him?

I've been reading lately (from local paper and local news) that opossums are healthy to have in the yard...they eat ticks, insects, spiders!!!, and they will even catch and kill snakes! If I didn't have these cats, I believe I'd be willing to put out food for them!

I like raccoons alright; but, I know they are very likely to carry rabies...so a part of me isn't all that thrilled with them. According to what I've read, the body temp of an opossum is too low for it to be able to get/carry rabies, which of course is a big plus for me.

All that being said, I would feel very very sorry for a little raccoon that had been kicked out of his family home, and I'd probably want to help him/her somehow. I can also be a dummy head.

The tree he came from yesterday is not home... Just an escape. Today when I was walking up to get the mail he was 1/2 way up the driveway and climbed another tree to hide/escape. Later he was back down near the house. It's very odd for a raccoon to be out during the day.

Seems he doesn't have any plans.

Yeah I thought that was quite unusual for a raccoon to be out in the day. Getting kicked out of home would probably tend to disorient a creature. :-(

I read that it's not unusual for raccoon that live near people to be out during the day.

These young raccoon (3) are getting almost as big as the mother. She brings them up to the food bowl every night. She use to come up to eat every afternoon around 2:00. I think she must have pregnant then. I really don't see them until dinner time now.

The o'possum comes to the food bowl in the carport at night.

The raccoon come to the one on the back porch.

We're all just one big happy family.

When you're as remote as I am it's odd to see them out during the day... When you are in a more suburban area or feed pets out side it's more common for them to be out when the food is there. (or your trash, or the neighbors trash, is available.)

The only food available here would be the possibility of catching one of the frogs in the waterfall in the meditation garden. Which by the way is the area I first saw this guy. There's water to drink there too. But why daytime I don't know... Like I say, he looks lost.

The drought has dried up their usual streams. They will come closer for food and water sources, I think.

She was running a temp of 102.4F yesterday but after starting her meds it came down to 99.4F today. She said she still feels awful though.

I've had both, and they were equally horrible on their own, so I couldn't imagine having both at the same time. I really hope she feels better soon.

One Of The Many And Varied Wild Birds I'm Feeding Here Is A Big Black Crow.

It's Taken Me 2 Years To Win It's Confidence To The Point Where It Will Come Within 15 Feet Of Me.

A Few Days Ago I Had About 16 White Cockatoos Feeding And Right In The Middle Of Them Was The Crow.

Nobody Can Call Australian Birds "Racist"....... :D

    Cheers Glen.
