I just don't think He can. He's got that much metal and what not in him if he slows he might not get up again. It's hard to watch too. Every one he gets up from sitting is anguish on his face for two or three steps and then he's okay. But it's rough for him. =[

Caved in to an all guy Xmas eve party on Saturday afternoon .... I've been instructed to cook the pies.

Just cooked the pear pies, apple pies still in the oven.
They want custard tarts and sausage rolls as well, but I'm too lazy to make those today.

There's an old WWII Air force base a few minutes from my house, it isnt really active anymore but they still use it for flight tests. For the last few days jets have been flying over my house several times throughout the day and they're so damn loud. The first few times it happened I ran out of the house to make sure a plane wasnt about to crash into the house but i'm used to it now, I guess. Still feel like i'm going to be blown to smithereens everytime I hear it.

So thats what is happening, i have the next few days off work and I am just drinking my coffee listening to the jets.

I kept forgetting, but I promised so here…
I don't feel like writing much, so here's the basic stuff.
Americans are nice. Very loud and very open. Like on TV lol. Very friendly, I have to admit.
I feel like we're much colder. Also nice, but in a very different way. Different kinds of nice.
They are generally curious about other countries (who would have thought, right), and ask a lot of questions. They are very confused about our tribal ways (as said by an American person), and why people here are so into religion. Well not „into“, but how every nation has like a dominant religion, and how it's a big deal here.
If I can understand Serbian and if it's practically the same language, then what's the big deal, why are we all the same/similar here, yet so focused on our differences.
There was this Kazakh Russian guy and we would just look at each other with mutual understanding - I know buddy, they don't get it. I loved that guy. Will stay in touch.
DC streets are so wide and so clean. That was the thing that amazed me the most. DC people would hate it here lol.
    What else, what else…
Didn't have much time for shopping and museums, unfortunately.
I did have to buy a couple of Vogue's for my friends, and wow that shit is cheap in the US.
You guys can even subscribe for the whole year for like 12 dollars. Wow.
I don't recommend it though, awful magazine. Mostly just adds. And those Hadid and Jenner girls are in it far too much. Vogue is one of those things that is so hyped-up thanks to the media and movies and TV show. Yet it doesn't quite deliver.
Food trucks. What a strange yet useful concept. Wouldn't mind having that here. But then again streets are narrow here lol. I had a lamb gyros. Was nice.
And I found a hair in an Asian place :-/
People are very much into fitness and very active, surprisingly. Yup. Sort of even obsessed with fitness. They're all „oh nice to meet you, let's grab a beer or play basketball“. That's a guy to guy thing, of course. And apparently they all jog when it's warmer.
    Do people jog in Croatia?
I had trouble sleeping and I usually woke up at 5 am. Not a soul to be seen, except for the homeless, a few cops and moi.
Also, "pull cord to signal driver to stop" wtf xD

Great job, Piaf! I love your "report".

I had no idea that shoe shine people even existed anymore. I've got a pic of my dad and his friends getting their shoes cleaned in the 1940's.

Orison, I know there are lots of ways to tape your hand with KT tape.

Years ago, my chiropractor taught me to wrap mine like this, using sports tape. It looks like this guy just used electrical tape. This particular position is supposed to open the carpal tunnel so things can move more smoothly.

thanks , they gave me a brace but its like a bowling brace. its not doing shit.. so i did something like that tape picture only using velcro wire straps. one above my wrist is real tight , seems to me helping take away some pain. but i also took two 5mg OC .. passed out some . woke because the fire starter needed fire.

I've worn the brace mostly at night because I was doing some weird bending of my hand when I slept. The tape is easy and meant for daytime, I guess. You just touch your thumb to your pinky and hold it like that while you wrap the tape - not too tight because the edge will cut into your hand.

My Christmas plans have been made.

Saturday afternoon late, we will go to church with my son's family...it's casual.

Saturday evening early, we will go with my son's family, over to my d-i-l's brother and s-i-l's house for dinner and to let the triplets exchange presents with the twins.

Sunday at 1:00 p.m., my daughter, her son, and her fiance will come over to my son's house for a big lunch (ham + fixings, deserts); and gifts.
I love it when all 11 of us are together!

Yeah, kind of reminded me of old movies.
I wanted to get my oxfords and return the next day.
But I watched for a while and it seems like a men thing?
I suppose women clean their own shoes!
    And I wasn't feeling revolutionary.

Post that pic when you find time. I love pics from that period.
But take your time, holidays are busy (especially with all your lunch and dinner plans xD).

I'm flying to Switzerland tomorrow afternoon.
My grandma called me today to ask if I was still going.
    Yes, why?
She thought I might have given up, because you know - terrorism.

Screw that, I paid for that plane ticket.
I am not rich enough to waste plane tickets.
